All animals looked well looked after all eating feed when we arrived. Our guide didn't rush his elephant at all. It was really enjoyable. Would not say it was unkind in anyway. Definitely worth the extra and do the shower. Staff were so so lovely! Even drove us home free of charge! All I would say was it was a man made pool rather than an exotic waterfall pools. Didn't mind because it was a short trip we were only 10 minutes away so we were only out for 2 hours. Rather than being stuck somewhere all day!

I have to say, initially, I was a bit wary of how the elephant's appeared to be treated by their guides, but as the day went on, I started to understand better. What some reviewers have classed as "cruelty" or "mistreatment" is completely misunderstood and taken out of proportion. These elephants are much loved by the people who look after them, and the instrument the guides use appears to be small blunt scythe, the blade of which I only ever saw used on vegetation. Each guide has his own elephant, and the elephants are incredibly intelligent, and are able to understand simple commands such as "go, stop, turn around, lift, pose". They even respond to their name! Our guide introduced his elephant as Priman, and whenever Priman's name was called, he would trumpet in response!
There was a baby elephant chained up near the main office (probably so he doesn't wander!), and his guide is a young boy himself, and they are both growing up and learning the trade together.
I saw no cruelty during my visit, only kindness and gentleness. The roughest treatment I saw was when Priman started to wander off the track, the guide had to push the heel of his foot into the back of Priman's ear to steer him back.

We came here to Elephant trek for 30mins
We had friendly riders.

In thailand you can not expect everything to look pretty.
There are shacks as you drive in
The elephants are tied. The monkey is even tied because it bites.

None of our elephants had marks on them from the picks they carry. We had three for the 7 of us.

The riders were keen to take pictures and video for us. Lovely they know how to take great photos. They command the Elephant to curl trunk too for photo.

They trained elephant to do "oi oi oi" sound if they say Aussie Aussie. Which is funny.

Photo from them only 200bht
Great when you want a family photo of everyone!

Very disappointed and shocked how violent some of the elephant guides are!!!! One of them was passing us and his elephant stopped he started hitting him on the head first with the sharp side of the "tool" and then with the flat side with the whole power on the forehead, time after time!!! We were few meters away and could hear the sound of hitting the bone!!! Also the little boy taking care of the small elephant was really violent with him as well. Beside that the small elephant is stuck all day on the chain maybe 50cm long... so wrong!!! You make a living of those animals- treat them well at least!!! Going to file report with police station and post this review on every possible internet site. The bareback ride and bath with the elephant were good but overall experience horrible!!!

Turned up this morning with no booking and immediately was able to ride elephant! They were all really looked after and the trainer used words rather than a stick to control the elephant! Also went swimming which was incredible got to play with the elephant for ages and was so enjoyable! Would really recommend!
