Review of Novotel Phuket Kamala Beach

View and hotel were beautiful (until you looked into it a little more). Ended up upgrading to an ocean villa upon arrival. Getting a closer look at things it is very old and out dated. Food was okay basically the same thing every morning. Don’t even bother for the dinners. Over priced and not good at all. Service was pretty great. But 2 REALLY big negatives to our trip. 1. A hurt kitten came to our door crying... followed us all the way to the front desk and when I told them they literally just tried shooing it away picked it up and basically walked it to the end of the road and put it in the bushes... RUINED MY WHOLE DAY!! And don’t even bother trying to get on the beach at night. There is an awful Black Swamp like river that runs right in front of the hotel into the beach. It was DISGUSTING! Smelled like sewage and some nights it was so bad you couldn’t even cross it to get to other parts of the beach. My first and last Novotel experience. More

Service with a smile
This was our first time at Novotel Kamala and despite a slightly rocky start, we were very impressed by the exceptional service and hospitality.

We reported a room concern to the front desk and it was managed with utmost professionalism. After being allocated to another room, we had an amazing stay with gorgeous views, friendly service and hospitality. To top it off, our late departure was made easy as the team volunteered information about bag storage, available showers and continued access to the pool and wifi.

The hotel is located on the quieter side of Kamala beach where you can swim and view the afternoon sunset. It has a rooftop bar which is great for evening drinks and is within easy reach of Cafe Del Mar and local eateries along the beach.

My only suggestion would be for the hotel to consider some building maintenance as some areas appeared a little run down and in need of a deep clean or paint. This may be due to the beachfront location. Aside from this, we had a very enjoyable stay and would happily return in the future.

Amazing location right on the beach. The pool and other hotel facilities are well maintained and conveniently located. Great views from most locations around the hotel. Food and drinks are great value for money.

Highly recommended
Never disappointed with our stay. Staff are so friendly especially in the restaurant. They always remember us from previous stays. Rooms are spacious and have everything we need. We had a beautiful view over the ocean.

“Wonderful”
The hotel is in a perfect location, in the bay surrounded by first class hotels on the Kamala beach.
The rooms are very clean, staff are very helpful. The food in the restaurants was great with nice selections.
My only negative is; walking back to our room in the afternoons there was a terrible smell in the hallway, not sure what it was.
The managers always came a spoke to us.
There are great massage places and restaurants just along the beach, I would highly recommend!

Home away from home
This was my third stay at the Novotel Phuket Kamala Beach; and each time was is better than the last. I decided to take an extra trip to phuket before my job got busy. All I wanted to do was relax, nothing else. My stay was nice and quiet and extremely relaxing. All of the staff is so helpful and welcoming. I really felt like I was at home. I had the original room that I stayed in last April(2018), which I loved because it’s a corner; it’s very quiet until happy hour on the roof but all you hear is the music and that’s nice because you don’t have to leave your room for it. This place makes me feel safe as well. There’s really no need for me to stay anywhere else. The food is great, and with all the happy hours at the different bars, that’s makes it easy to enjoy a drink at any time of the day no matter what your budget is. I must give a shout out to Khun Pum(I hope I spelled I right) at the sports bar in the evening. She’s the sweetest person ever, and hands down she makes the best drinks. Don’t get me wrong, ALLLLLL of the bartenders were amazing, she’s the one that stood out to me because we actually got to speak. I can’t wait to see her again and hear all about her new journey of becoming a mom again. Tara and Mike, from management are also some of the most amazing people I have ever met. Thank you Tara for our talk and allowing to express everything that I’ve been going through; you’re a great listener and thanks for making me laugh, and assisting with my requests before hand(you’re the best). I wish I could thank everyone by name because you all made this stay amazing. I’m looking forward to returning back to my home away from home in April.
