I searched for ages trying to find a hotel/resort that ticked all the boxes and had good reviews and was in our price range. This place looked good in the photos and in the reviews and we got a good price booking threw sawadee (or something like that). When we arrived we were pleasantly greeted and taken to our gorgeous room! It was a generous size and had a balcony and down the end near the sea. They cleaned the room every day which was always well done. Breakfast buffet was included in our room and every morning we enjoyed a huge selection of hot and cold buffet food - every thing you can hope for even bacon and eggs as you like it! We at at the kitchen by the sea every day because the food and service was so good and very affordable! The massages in the resort are the same price as the dogey ones outside the resort but better quality! There was also a gym and some classes as well which as fitness conscious people, we really enjoyed! Overall the staff were very kind and helpful and we could not fault the resort!

The area was pretty good too! There are a few stalls nearby and a road with heaps of food places and shops but not very busy. We hired a scooter from ourside the resort for 600baht for 3 days and rode that to Patong which took about 15-20 minutes! And took a 700baht taxi to phuket town as well.

The only thing I will say negative is the tailor in the resort isn't worth going to. My boyfriend got a suit made from him and while the suit turned out good, the service was annoying. I felt like he just wanted to rush us out of there without getting the suit perfect. He avoided making an alteration by saying 'this is normal to have the suit sleeves longer to your knuckles' when we looked it up, we were correct, it's not normal to have the sleeves long. He really doesn't care about you - just money.

The resort was perfect and we can't wait to come back!

We stayed in the hotel for 10 days and it was a really good. The staff is friendly and helpfull. The location of the hotel is also fantastic as its on the beach. You can view the ocean while sitting down for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

We had a great time at the Kamala Beach Resort at our recent stay in April 2014. We were there for just over a week and enjoyed our time there - a very pleasant stay. We stayed in the adult only / kid free part of the resort.

We hadn't been to Phuket before and I must admit we were a little put off by stories from our friends, however we later realised that most of their ill-comments were directed at the Patong area.

We wanted somewhere much much quieter than Patong, which a nice beach and a nice resort - this place hit the mark.

Located on the beach-front, this resort is quite large with four pools, two dining areas and a few bars thrown in the mix (including two pool bars). The facilities were great for us with a Gym (and plenty of group exercise activities like water aerobics, step classes etc), a mini-mart, a booking desk for activities and tours and if that wasn't enough, there is quite a long stretch of beach which hosts umpteen restaurants, bars, massage and souvenir stalls.

A short stroll from the resort is a small strip with a few shops, including a coffee shop or two, restaurants etc - pretty much what you'd find on the beach, but in actual stores rather than huts. On the main road, which again is only a 5 minute walk from the resort were more bars and restaurants, although we were very much consumed by what the beach had to offer, we very rarely ventured onto the main road.

The staff were polite at KBR. Any time we needed or wanted anything, they were more than happy to oblige. Case in hand; the air-con unit in the room wasn't doing a very good job - we'd planned to mention it to the front desk after breakfast one morning, however before we could get there, the cleaners had noticed it, cleaned our room and must have had someone come in and fix the unit, as all was good again!

We ate at the resort every breakfast, however only once again for lunch on the first day. That's not to say that the food wasn't up to par - quite the contrary - the food was excellent, however there was very similar food available on the restaurants on the beach and we found a place we liked so kept going back there.

The breakfast buffet is massive - there's so much to choose from and I'd almost say its the biggest I'd come across in a resort. You'll be well catered for here.

Overall I thought the resort was great - very clean and well looked after. We decided to splurge and grab one of the high-end rooms and if you can afford it, we'd recommend it. They're massive rooms that overlook the pools on the 3rd floor. You won't be disappointed. If you have trouble getting up and down stairs, then I'd perhaps avoid level 3 and go for a ground level room - there are no lifts at this resort (that we found anyway!).

It only took us less than 30 minutes to get to and from the Airport.

If your aim is to stay at the resort and do nothing else than be in the pool or lie on a deck chair, you wouldn't go wrong here. If you're up for a bit more, this is right up your alley too - tours will pick you up at the front door of the resort and you're no more than 40 minutes from most major tours like trips to Phi Phi etc.

If we come back to Phuket, we'll be making this our home for the short time we're there for sure.

Room Tip: There are very few rooms that have a beach view and from recollection, the better rooms are all '...

This is a great hotel in one of Phuket's quieter beach towns. I actually prefer Kamala over Kata because it's quieter, less trashy and there's great places to eat directly on the beach which is something you can't do in Australia (other than the beach restaurants, I'd also recommend Popeye's closer to the main road, back from the beach). Anyway, back to the hotel. It's great, big and clean rooms and an amazing pool area. Somewhat impersonal, as any hotel this size is, so if you're after the intimate, personal touch go elsewhere. This and the tour groups means the service can sometimes be a bit of a let down. Room service pizza wasn't great (definitely stick to the local restaurants). For the price, it's great. Can't wait to head back for the third time soon.

Room Tip: I always get newer rooms, which I believe are more expensive, but based on pictures, entirely worth...

This was our first trip overseas and we picked Kamala beach area due to being told it was a slower paced town with nice beaches. We were disappointed!!!
Location- walk straight out of the hotel on to the beach, a short walk up the beach (with great shops, restaurants, bars along the beach line) and your walking through town. About a half hour to hour transfer to major towns and attractions (that we went to), which is a pleasent drive and a great way to see the areas.
Beach- along the main used area the beach is lovely and clean, safe swimming sections roped off to show you where to swim and to keep any debris away from this area.
Restaurants in resort- two to choose from. Fantastic service, great food, lovely decor, and reasonable prices. Great live music some nights too.
Pools- amazing, big, clean and beautiful. Never had a problem finding a sun bed by the pool, some people would leave their towels there during the day to reserve a bed, but during our stay there were plenty of free beds to choose from so it was never a problem.
Rooms- we had the junior sweet (level 3) and our travelling partner had a standard basic room in the newer if the two wings. Both rooms were lovely! Great showers, BIG beds, fridges big enough for the hotel items as well as our extra beers we purchased from the mini mart.
Staff and service- every staff member we met was kind and helpful, always a smile and a hello. The reception were great and booked all our activities for us at no charge. We made friends with a few staff in particular and it was great to see them and chat each day and get advice in the local areas, etc.

We did not have a single complaint. The quality of the resort is top notch, the staff (cleaning, reception, bar, restaurant etc) were amazing!! The location of the resort was perfect for exploring Phuket and Kamala. There were also special touches like a bottle in wine on arrival (this trip was our late honeymoon) plus flowers in the bed. My husband also had his birthday during our stay and he received a card and a free bottle if wine for when we dined at the restaurant.
Thank you for a wonderful stay.
