“eyes open, mouth shut.”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 6, 2012

positives:
-view is amazing
-good ice cream

negatives: (limited to a few)
-kitchen out of lots of ingredients.
-service poor (often mix up meals of tables etc)
-food isn't amazing, often not authentic.
-menu is very broad. chefs may be trying to master too much.

go for a look, don't stay for a meal.

“Not what we had hoped for...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 30, 2010

Judging from the reviews on this site, we had high expectations of Diavolo. As it turned out we were somewhat disappointed;

Good points:
* The location is truly wonderful on a cliff overlooking the sea
* The archictecture and ambiance is modern, airy and very tasteful
* The service is friendful and attending

What we found disappointing;
* The food was not in line with the pretention, the ambiance and the prices;
* The carpaccios were accompanied by a strong mustard mayonnaise sauce that overwhelmed the taste of everything else;
* The grilled prawns with avocado were bland in taste;
* The veal scalopini was "fried" in "breadcrumbs" and "egg" with some tomato sauce and half melted mozarella on top. In our opinion Veal Scalopini should not be combined with either the words "fried", or with "breadcrumbs" nor with "eggs";
* Lastly in view of the above the bill was way out if compared to the quality of the food.

We would suggest that more focus would be given on serving honest Italian food as it is meant to be: simple, tasteful and full of life. That together with the great location, would make this a truly wonderful place to wine and dine.

“Fabulous restaurant with the best international food on the entire island”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 7, 2010

Diavolo has got a fabulous menu. The staff is very friendly and looks good after you. I love many dishes over there such as the Rib Eye Steak, lobster, carpassio, etc. I am living in Kamala and it is worth a visit a few times every week. They have also got two friendly cooks from Australia and Italy. If you have any special wishes they are doing their best to satisfy you and they have also been exceeding my expectations so far. The atmosphere is a MUST experience. I would also like to recommend the Infinity pool for a nice sunset dinner with your girl friend. I have been living here for several years and this is the most romantic place on the entire island with a combination of creative and fabulous fine a la carte dishes, friendly service and good value for money. I am comparing 5 stars with 5 stars and Paresa/Diavolo is SIMPLY THE BEST in Phuket :-)
Make an amazing Thailand expirience in the Diavolo/Paresa next time you are in Kamala...

“A view of the world at your feet”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 28, 2010

Diavolo restaurant inside the Peresa resort was a journey to get to - having tthe taxi driver stop and ask about 4 times along the winding road behind Kamala Beach headland - but when you get there and take the walk down the corridor entranceway, you are in for a surprise......

After this, once you take the lift to the lower floor, the reasturant is very airy and fitted out tastefully. The summer breezes blowing gently inside or outside, depending on where your seating fancy takes you.

I can recommend booking ahead and getting a balcony edge seat to fully appreciate the spectacluar view. Done in nature's own inimitable way, you won't be disappointed. The food is well presented and the staff exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable. The best part for a foreigner is that they understand (in my case) English very well so asking the odd question is answered easily by the team.

For my wife and me, we have a 2 1/2 year old son and it was a pleasure for him too as he could lie back on the bean bag to happily suck on his milk bottle after having his meal.

All in all, a fabulous romantic meal spot or suitable for a special family occasion.

“From the dramatic entrance view of the Andaman to the spectacular trees; the food was as great as nature.”

Great restaurant with some of the best Italian food on the island. A great view on a cliff overlooking the Andaman.
