Hotel perch on hillside which fulfils its promise of all seaview rooms. The Jaccuzi suite that we booked on the 4th floor has breath-taking view and our jaccuzi is on the balcony which feels really great being outdoor!

We stayed for 3 nights. However the electricity went bust in the middle of the night at 3am on our first night and they took an hour to repair in our room. I do not blame the technician, however, the hotel management should at least apologise for the inconvenience and the delay. For the full 3 days we were there, no one has mention of the event. Taking into consideration that the Jacuzzi suite is, at moment, the 2nd highest grade room at the hotel.

The breakfast bar selection is pathetic and the service staff looks like they have been working for the past 24hrs. There were only 3 waiter/waitress in breakfast to at least 20 guests at a single seating. They made wrong orders; serve wrong tables and on my 2nd breakfast, i had to serve my coffee myself from the open kitchen. Having the open kitchen is a cool concept, but breakfast should be a welcoming meal of the day. With all the staff looking over-worked, it does not give you a very nice start to the beginning of a new day.

Staff is not as friendly, comparatively, as you would find in many other resorts - all smiles and small talk. They keep to themselves most of the time or just a very slight smile. The most memorable staff was the guy who picked us up from the airport. It might seem common in other resorts to have staff chatting with the guests, but because he was the only staff who cared enough to ask about your day and your trips, it made him stand out alot.

As the hotel's location is right at the entrance of the road leading into more resorts, with the road right in front of the rooms, the construction of the hotel's villas and many other constructions going on in other villas, it can be quite noisy if you are looking for tranquility.

Best thing in Cape Sienna is the Plum Dining Restaurant. Highly recommended. Very good food!

We never do reviews. But we feel that Cape Sienna deservs an eloge. This place is a evermore luxurious home away from home. Though the architecture, the food, the view and the facilities are top notch, it is the amaxing people who works there that makes the hotel relly special. Each one of them did whatever they could to make our stay plecent, always with a warm smile, but never in a pushy way. The rooms are beautiful and very very clean, big plus for the "rain-shower". This is a place for relaxing in a mature and stylish way (kidfree zone!). We will always remember our stay in Cape with much love, and hope to come back again someday!

cape sienna. ah, good memories.
i was staying at the 3 month old resort, with very brief background check that this is owned by a german man.

to start off. i had airport transfer to pick us up and the journey was perfect as they had arranged for a cold beverage in the car, a few genre of music for your selection & cold towel to freshen up. it was a 30 mins car ride to the hotel which was somewhere up on a hill. that's where you have to be patient if you want to stay somewhere with a good view. we were greeted by the hotel recept who gave me and my partner a welcoming and contemporary lotus flower & while we sat at the reception area with a great sea view, they served us a cuppa cold & refreshing lemongrass tea while they do the necessary check in.

then, the room. ah. the room. clean, straightforward, contemporary & quite a modern romantic room. the decor was tastefully planned and the view at the balcony was wow.

mostly, we enjoyed dining at the restaurant, enjoying the breeze and suntanning with the great sea view. dang.

to sum it up: i've gotten fabulous comments on my holiday album on facebook and to date, has referred more than 3 separate group of friends to cape sienna. it's a place to stay if you are travelling alone or with a significant other. i love cape sienna. good memories.

Location wise it's unbeatable with unspoiled views of the Andaman and Kamala bay, and they certainly have the food and beverage right...although the breakfast buffet was boring. The building itself is a logistical nightmare to navigate; accessing the lovely bar and restaurant involve hikes up and down steep staircases with no handrail...not a hotel for the physically challenged or the faint hearted! The plain concrete sink in the bathroom is, frankly, disgusting and didnt seem to be cleaned properly during our 8 night stay. Only the spa actually smelt nice! Additionally the outdoor jacuzzi on our balcony is another accident waiting to happen as it;s impossible to get into or out of safely and the steps to it jut out by the door. We wont be making a repeat trip.

My husband and I just came back from a 3 night stay at Cape Sienna last weekend and we are so glad that we decided on this resort out of the myriad of choices in Phuket. The airport transfer was arranged by our travel agent but upon arrival at the resort, we were greeted by very friendly bell boys who helped us with our luggage up to the lobby on the 1st floor. The reception staff was warm and friendly and immediately provided us with welcome drinks, cool towels and a choice of scents for the toiletries to be used in our room! How nice! The check-in didn’t take more than 10mins and we were shown to our room right after.

The resort is very new and has a hip and modern, minimalist kind of feel to it. We had booked a Jacuzzi C-view room and we were very pleased with the privacy of the room (as the Jacuzzi is located on the balcony). The view from the room was simply breathtaking! Complete unblocked view of the sea! It was really nice to soak in the tub in the afternoon, looking out into the blue horizon with a chilled glass of sparkling wine in your hand…Some of the reviewers here had mentioned that the Jacuzzi takes a long time to fill up (water pressure is a little low) and I do agree on that point. However, you are on holiday and you can always occupy your time with a book or TV while waiting for the tub to fill, so, don’t fret over it. It is a rather big tub!

The room we had was spacious and well appointed, although the mattress was a bit too firm for my liking. Also, what would make the room more complete for me would be an iPod dock, but I’m really being picky here.

The pool at the resort is not too big, it’s more like a lap pool for guests to cool off after their tanning session. Food quality at their Plum restaurant is quite good and the restaurant is beautifully designed. There is a very nice outdoor seating area which faces the sea, and an air-conditioned area with a small mezzanine as well. Their Vanilla Sky bar right at the rooftop is another good area to chill and enjoy the sunset and sea breeze. Breakfast was included in our room rate but I would rate their breakfast quality as average, some hits and misses there.

Prices at their spa are charged at hotel rates but the service and skill of their therapists is very good and I would recommend trying their massages or treatments at least once. Because we were there during low season, we got a 50% discount on their Thai massage, which I thought was a very good deal.

In terms of location, Kamala beach is surely not the most happening area if you require lots of nightlife. It is a good place to be if you prefer some peace and serenity in the evenings and you’ve already been to Phuket several times. Patong is but 20mins away by tuk-tuk, motorbike or by car, so it’s close enough to some excitement and shopping and far enough to provide tranquility if you so desire. The resort does provide free transport to Patong if needed.

Overall, my husband and I enjoyed our stay at Cape Sienna very much and we are glad to have made the right choice staying there. I think the only major downside for some folks (but not for me really) would be the construction that’s still going on in the surrounding areas. In fact, Cape Sienna themselves are still finishing up the construction of their villa units in front of their hotel, so if you decide to stay in at the resort during the afternoon, you will definitely hear construction noise when lounging at the pool. This will not be a problem at night though. I believe the area will be much more hospitable in 6-9 months’ time when all construction work should be completed, but I will still give Cape Sienna two thumbs up and will certainly recommend it for couples looking for a romantic getaway (check out their adults concept policy)!
