“Beautiful grounds”
Reviewed January 31, 2014

The reviews about this place are spot on. The staff are really nice, very helpful with advice and bookings. The owner, Phil, even drove us out one night in his own car. The location sucks a little, as it is quite a walk to the beach. They do run a shuttle bus to and from, and the driver will arrange a pick up time to suit. The villas, pools and grounds are very nice- really lovely. The restaurant turns out good quality food at very reasonable prices.

Room Tip: The nearby mosque will have up early wherever you are.

Thank you for your review and your positive comments. Great to know you enjoyed your stay and our restaurant," Ambassador Bistro" Location I guess is not perfect, particularly if you like the beach, but it is only a 5 minute walk, or ten minutes to the really nice part of the beach and we are very close to banks, supermarkets, other restaurants and bars. When possible, we also use the shuttle bus to take people to and from the beach, at the time it suits them, particularly if they have children, so most days we can take you by the shuttle bus. Agree with you about staff being great, most have been with me over a year and we have a great team They all try to do their very best to make sure when the guests are here, they have a good time an are given the best advice possible, for bookings of tours, day trips shows etc.
Many thanks Phil Seal Owner/manager

We had a 2 bedroom apartment that overlooked the lovely pool. We used the nearby supermarket for fruit etc for breakfast and usually ate restaurant meals outside.the food was lovely and good value .the chef carves fruit into lovely shapes like butterflies sometimes.staff are very friendly and the cleaners do a great job each day.rooms are spacious with very comfortable beds.it is walking distance from fantasies and a cheap taxi ride from busy patong.if you want a relaxing holiday stay here.

Congratulations on being us 200 review on Tripadvisor and for your nice comments. Great to know you enjoyed your stay and the food at our restaurant. Our chef has been with us 18 months and prior to working with us at Royal Embassy, was at a restaurant in Patong, that was then rated at No 1 on tripadvisor, Our restaurant "Ambassador Bistro" is now rated at No 2 in Kamala, so our chef is very proud of his achievements.
Many thanks for taking the time to write a review and rating us as excellent.
Kind regards

Nice and quite hotel with around 20 rooms. The hotel was fully booked while we where here. My son aged 3 and I stayed here for 5 nights. We lived on 1st flooor in a one bedroom apatment. Kitchen with full amieneties. Very nice. Service is thoightfull and not overexcaturated as you sometime see. Atmosphere is relaxed. Even with a fully booked hotel you will meet a very quite poolside. Staff are very observe too your needs. if you are travelling with kids i would defenetely go for a bungalow. Number 4 or 5 if possible. They are placed next to the pool with shallow water and you can easily be in the rooms balcony while monitoring the kids. I for sure regret that I did not book it. Make no mistake. 1st floor is also ok. Powersockets througout the room. Distance to the beach is a 10 minute walk where you will have to cross the mainroad. Exciting but not too bad. They have shuttle service twice a day.
In my book they could easily charge 50% more in this hotel. Very relaxed atmosphere. Pretty sure we will return again. This time we will book the bungalow. Most two bedrooms are placed on groundlevel. No lifts but stairs are not too bad. Voted number two in Tripadvisor. Worth it!!

Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review on your stay with us and the positive comments you have made. Great to know you enjoyed your stay and sorry we could not supply you with a one bedroom Villa next to the pool. I agree with you, they are so much better for when you are travelling with children, as they have more freedom with running around and easier when you have a pushchair, such as yourself, but we only have 5 villas and are ususally the first booked.
It was great to meeet you and your son, hope to see you back sometime.

This was the last stop on our 3 destination custom-designed vacation on the Andaman coast, put together by Andaman Sky. We liked staying on Kamala beach (after telling our agent a bit about our likes and dislikes they suggested we give Patong a wide bearth, which I’m sure was the right thing to do as I don’t think my wife would have appreciated the sleaze there). Kamala beach, by contrast, is very peaceful and was perfectly suited to our needs, mainly to finish up our holiday with some solid pool and beach time, which was exactly what we got. Thanks to the resort for a great stay. I recommend other travelers looking for a peaceful and very comfortable resort on Phuket to consider staying at this place. We stayed here after a disastrous stay at the Renaissance, which we didn't like at all, thankfully our agent got us moved to the Royal Embassyquickly.

Thank you so much for your review and so good to know you both enjoyed your stay here. Your comment that your requirements were" a peaceful place to stay," very pleased to know we fitted the bill. When I can, I have always stayed in smaller hotels or resorts, for the same reason. Because we have only 20 rooms, but set on almost 4 Rai, plus having two swimming pools almost gives you total privacy, which many of our guest look for. Your recommendation to other guests is so rewarding and I will do my utmost to ensure our standards and service, will be as good during 2014.as they were in 2013
Wishing you a successful and healthy 2014

We are still getting 30* plus days here, so do feel sorry for you having to go back to the winter in the UK . Myself coming from New Zealand, remember vividly the cold winters days there, which of course we never get in Phuket.. Great to know you enjoyed your stay with us and especially rewarding as you are a seasoned travelers, plus having been to Phuket before, Yes we are lucky here in Kamala. A number of beaches now on Phuket Island are now not so peaceful, or as nice as Kamala and it is a great little township for families, or guests wanting a peaceful holiday.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review on your stay and your recommendation to others. Wishing you all the best for2014

Very happy with our 2 bedroom apartment. Very clean and comfortable. We used the kitchenette facilities a bit and were pleased to find the utensils and crockery all spotlessly clean which is not usual with those things. A supermarket close by with a selection of imported products including pasta and sauce, fruit and veg, cereal etc
Loved the beautifully maintained gardens and public areas. Agree with previous comments about the ground floor 2 bedders having a roomier 'deck' area. Loved the way the rooms all faced towards a central pool/courtyard area.
Also agree with the compliments to staff who could not do enough for us. They even booked a special dinner for us at another resort for my daughters bday which I thought was very generous.
I raised one minor issue with the owner, Phil (the shower head was partly blocked), and we had a brand new shiny shower head by the time we came back from the beach. Excellent.
As to the beach, I think there have been some comments about the frequency of transport to the beach and the distance. We did not find the distance bad at all (cut through the back of big C supermarket). Yes it is hot but I guess we Australians are used to it or something. For us it was an advantage being away from the hustle and bustle of the beachfront. We usually walked back, cooled off in the hotel pool and enjoyed our quiet oasis with an ice cream picked up at the supermarket on the way back.
The shuttle theoretically runs 2x per day except Fri but if they are not busy the driver will usually drop you to the beach if he can at other times. We just walked anyway mostly.
You can hear cars and motorbikes on the side road if they go past but I did not find it disturbing and I am a light sleeper. The first night there was a bit of noise from the bar across the road but my earplugs took care of that.
Highly recommended.

Thank you for your extensive review and your nice comments about the resort, the service and the rooms. I thoughly enjoyed meeting you and your daughter and having you here as our guests, as did the rest of my staff. They asked me to pass on their thanks, for your generous tip for them, that they were over the moon about. We really try to ensure all our guests have a wonderful time while staying here with us, so it is very rewarding, when someone takes the time, to write a review and make so many positive comments, regarding their stay and our facilities.
All the best for 2014

The Royal Embassy is the perfect place to stay in Kamala beach. The resort is kept immaculate, the apartments are well equipped and spacious and over look the gardens and pool. It is very quite at night time, so you can get a good nights sleep. The owner and staff are very accommodating and friendly. The food was the best we tasted anywhere in Kamala. Can't wait to go again.
