“Tranquil location”
Reviewed March 9, 2012

We had a 3 night stay at Kamala Beach estate and very much enjoyed our time. We had booked a garden villa, but were given an upstairs one which had a lovely sea view. The villa was spacious and beautifully maintained. We enjoyed time around the pools, both large & small. It was a very relaxing, peaceful environment and we would definitely return. The staff were always helpful and friendly. We liked the fact that it wasn't too far to walk to the shops and beach. The breakfast at the Rockfish Restaurant was wonderful, with great views too.

Room Tip: Villas upstairs have a good view of the Andamon Sea

Located on a point at the southern end of Kamala Beach, we absolutely loved our recent visit to the Kamala Beach Estate (not to be confused with the bigger and more well known Kamala Beach Resort which taxi drivers kept taking us to). We had 6 people in our group and booked 2 x 2 bedroom garden apartments. The whole experience was delightful. The Rockfish Restaurant where you have breakfast (if you take a breakfast package) was quite small but had the most beautiful views down Kamala Beach over all the local fishing boats from the neighbouring village. I appreciate there have been a couple of negative reviews on this site but you need to be aware all the apartments are privately owned and are renovated at their owners expense when and if they feel it's required. We had two adjoining rooms overlooking the 2nd swimming pool and, when we dropped in to see them when we were there in September 2011, one was in the process of being renovated and the other was closed up and we were a little hesitant about what to expect. However, the rooms were just great, the staff terrific and the location couldn't be beaten as far as we were concerned. We would have no hesitation in going back and, hopefully, next time we can book early enough to guarantee and Andaman suite with views of the ocean. Just be aware that no two rooms are the same but I imagine most of them would be in excellent shape! PS Kamala Beach is a knockout!

Room Tip: If they are available and within your price range, get an Andaman suite overlooking the water

We stayed about 5 days in December 2011 and it was super. We had a one bedroom overlooking the sea. The decor was fine and service excellent. Staff extremely friendly and the area is nice and quiet. It was close to everything we needed as a tourist. If you are staying get a suit or shirts made up down next to the Estate. There is a 7/11 there and next door is a tailor. He was fantastic and excellent quality. My partner got a suit made for her work and she loved it too. We also rented a motorbike off him for 450 Baht ( $15 aud). He wont rip you off. It was convenient to the KBE. The restaurant at KBE was excellent as well. You wont be disappointed if you stay here. If you are then you need to reassess your life values and pull your head in!

We stayed at Kamala Beach Estate with a bunch of family and friends for our wedding at nearby Cape Sienna. There are a selection of 1, 2 and 3-bedroom units/villas. We had a 3 br Andaman view villa and it was stunning - sweeping views over Kamala beach and out to the horizon. The balcony was huge, great kitchen and the rooms were all decent sized with their own bathroom. The bedrooms were all air-con but the air-con wasn't working in the living area - it wasn't too bad though because there was good air-flow most of the time. Friends who were in 1 and 2 br units also really enjoyed their places. Definitely worth paying the extra for a unit or villa with beach views! The staff were also very helpful. Would definitely come back!

Room Tip: Worth paying for Andaman views over garden views

After some extensive research for accomodation in Phuket, our family decided upon Kamala Beach Estate. The fact that their villas had separate bedrooms/bathrooms was a plus for us as we were travelling with our two sons (21 & 16). All of us could have some privacy.
We had booked the two bedroom/two bathroom Garden Villa but upon arrival found that we had been placed in a three bedroom/three bathroom villa facing the Adaman Sea at no extra charge. An absolute bonus as the view was stunning!
I have to say that after reading some of the more non flattering reviews on Kamala Beach Estate, we were not entirely sure what we would end up with. We really could not fault the place. We loved our Villa!! There was a view from every room in the house (apart from the bathrooms). The pool and gardens were gorgeous, staff very helpful when help was required. It was quiet, private and well within walking distance to restaurants and the beach. I am not sure how anyone could comment that it takes 20 to 30 mins to walk to the main area.........................we walked along the road to the main area with our 8 month old daughter in a stroller and had no problem with traffic and it took us approximately 10 mins to get to the main beach! There is also a 7/11 at the end of the road (5 mins) which came in handy for stocking up on groceries for breakfast etc. The kitchen was definately an added bonus, especially travelling with our young daughter. Kettle, microwave, fridge freezer, toaster........all provided.
The Villa was kept very cleanand tidy daily with a HUGE amount of fresh water provided. There was a slight musty smell in the downstairs bedroom. However this was solved when we opened the window during the day; Simple! Our Villa was not decked out in "modern" decor, however it was still lovely and comfortable and had an Asian feel to it which was great as we were in Asia after all.
We stayed for four nights and wish we could have stayed longer! The nightview from our massive "balcony" was awesome. It was also lovely to sit around the pool at night time and admire the garden/pool and it's lights. We have no hesitation in recommending this Estate to anyone travelling to this area of Phuket. If we ever travelled to this area again, we wouldn't even bother looking for alternative accommodation; we would just book with Kamala Beach Estate. Thank you for a fantastic stay. It really was one of the highlights of our holiday.

A small resort of privately owned villas perched on the picturesque cliffs of Kamala Bay. Ours was a one bdrm appartment overlooking the Amdaman Sea - just beautiful! Our other accom for the family was a 3 bdrm villa with a huge balcony that we watched the fireworks from in the Bay on New Years - amazing! All villas and appartments have fully equipped kitchens, daily housekeeping and room service from the inhouse restaurant RockFish. Very nice food and very popular with tourists so sometimes it took over an hour to get food delivered to the villa. Lovely main pool area with a second smaller pool and jacuzzi located near the beach end of the resort. Comfy beds and good airconditioning but wouldn't trust the inroom safe as it wasn't secured! Plenty of local bars, shops and seven elevens to buy water etc. We did our main shopping in Patong which was a 15min taxi ride at approx 10000BHT or A$30.00. Lots for the family to do during the day - swimming, jetskiing and parasailing and night markets and entertainment in the Bay at night. A good, safe place to take the family.
