My wife and I have stayed at a number of B&Bs, and you can always tell the owners who are really passionate about their business. It's clear that this is more than a business for Marc and Louise - they are living their dreams and it comes through in every aspect of this beautiful home. The grounds are tranquil with a spectacular view of the St. Lawrence. The interior design is exquisite, painstaking in its attention to detail, at once five-star and yet as comfortable as your own home. Breakfast by Chef Marc is first-class, inspired by the local terroir and using sources from the property (including homemade bread, jelly, jams, pate and cheese!). Most importantly we will remember Louise and Marc, two warm and wonderful hosts who made us want to forget about our life and stay 'dans les bras de Morphee' forever! We look forward to our next visit. As much as we want to keep this little gem a secret from our friends, we would not hesitate to recommend this lovely B&B.

Views, rooms, food, setting: all bucolic. A perfect one-night stop. Marc & Louise are truly lovely. But to fully appreciate a multi-night experience, you have to be patient, hungry (with a pretty sweet tooth!) and sociable in the morning as an elaborately-prepared breakfast is served family-style at a fixed hour (8:30) at a communal table around which all guests are seated. (There is one table for two in another room, but you have to ask for it in advance as it is pretty popular.) Appetizer, main course (most often a sweet dish) and a very rich dessert are all lovingly served over the course of an hour. The food is truly outstanding--all ingredients are local, if not directly from the property--but language barriers between guests and long pauses between coffee pours can make for some awkward silences if you are not morning people. Sleep quality is great, but the cost of assured quiet is that guests can make limited use of the tempting common areas in the evening. Be sure to check out the sheep & rabbits on the property, the enticing outdoor "viking pool" and wonderful "Tigidou" jams next-door!

Room Tip: All 4 upper-floor rooms seem great

We stayed here for two nights while attending the old Quebec city celebrations. The accommodations, breakfast and view were beyond our expectations. Marc and Louise are welcoming, sincere and generous hosts who made our stay exceptional. I look forward to returning next year.

The Owners Louise and Marc will make you feel as if St Peter is sleeping next door. We had a delightful stay on the island. All of our expectations were met. I would not hesitate to recommend this place.

Keep in mind that there is not a ton to do on the island outside of relaxing. A few notes:
* The Bistro just done the street is fantastic. Great food and booze.
* The ice cream spot is to die for. Get ice cream and enjoy the view of the river.
* The micro brewery is ok, but not great. It would be a good place to watch a game, however the brew selection is lacking.
* Be sure to hit the jelly/wine shop called Cacis. Very good tasting area.
* Get your picnic food and snacks in Quebec City. The store on the island is very expensive.

All in all, an amazing trip thanks to the proprietors of Dans les bras de Morphee B&B.

Room Tip: Request a room on the second floor.

This French-country-style farmhouse made a perfect setting for our July honeymoon. Owners Louise and Marc are adorable and very kind and welcoming. They told us interesting stories about their farm and the history of the island.

We stayed in the "Sleep and Dreams" room which was decorated with romantic floral fabrics and a dreamy canopy bed. The bathroom had a tub for relaxing bubble baths. Our room was like something out of a fairy tale.

The 3-course breakfasts that Marc prepared were delicious and presented beautifully.

We particularly enjoyed exploring their farm-- the gardens, the pastures with sheep, grape vines, apple trees, rabbits, ducks, chickens, and bee hives. Such a unique and memorable experience. It could not have been better.

Room Tip: Note that the walls are fairly thin, so noise travels easily, but that is to be expected in an old h...

We stayed at this B&B for one night on our way through from Toronto to Cape Breton. It is a beautiful old house that has been lovingly restored and maintained by the recent owners, Marc and Louise. The home is beautifully decorated and there is a spacious lounge for guests to rest or anjoy a glass of wine during their stay. The breakfast is beautifully presented and prepared by Marc, who is also a chef, and offered enough to keep us going throughout the day. The dining room is very large and, as all guests sit together for breakfast, there is a chance for conversation with others. This is an outstanding establishment that offers a quiet respite in a beautiful country setting.

Room Tip: If you are going during the hot summer I would not recommend the upstairs room as it is very hot at...

We spent our last night of a 9-day Quebec vacation at Dans le bras de Morphee and it was the perfect way to end on a high note. After spending two days at a hotel in Quebec City that literally overlooked the main stage of the International Music Festival, this quaint, quiet, peaceful B&B was just what the doctor ordered.

As many others have said, Louise and Marc are phenomenal hosts who really care about their guests' well-being. We got great recommendations on where to visit on the island. Breakfast was plentiful, delicious and presented beautifully. We loved chatting with the other guests at the large table, but there is a small one in another room for those who prefer some alone time. The rooms were very clean and well-appointed. We had an air conditioner in our adorable second-floor room "Sweet Escapade." The grounds were stunning, with river views, gorgeous gardens, chickens and lambs, and many places to relax and enjoy.

Not only would we recommend this B&B, but we are going to surprise my parents with a night here when they come to visit QC in a few months time.

Finally, it was a pleasure to chat and bond with Louise and Marc. They are salt-of-the-earth people.
