This "mini-Borobudur" is an interesting Buddhist temple, with a touch of Hindu aesthetic.

Several shrine rooms as well as an open-air meditation & lecture field make this an interesting visit.

They have a full schedule of courses and retreats.

Relatively new but nice stupas and buddha statues on the premisses. It is a nice difference to the overkill on Hindu temples on Bali (although most are very beautiful

It is possible to have a retreat there. My husband did it during a week and enjoyed it, even he was not allowed to talk.

And it was fabulous! I learned so much. It was on compassion. The Teacher was great. We woke at 4am daily, saw the moon and stars go and the sun come up - magical. I had some amazing experiences here and met some wonderful people. Its also donation dependent so you put in what you can afford - I love that. It means to me that they are sincere as opposed to those who charge thousands of pounds for a week of meditation. This was the real thing. Authentic. They also fed us - nice food too, all vegetarian. You can visit the site for courses. If you do this though, ensure you are ready for some discipline. If you are a quitter, dont bother. If you are open, do it. You will reap great rewards as I did. It was life changing really. I would do it again and again.

If you are in the Lovina area this beautiful monastery is a must see. As you climb the steps to reach different levels (like Buddhism itself, I suppose) different views and insights are afforded to you. The higher up you go the better the surrounding view gets.

It is peaceful, beautiful and a wonderful spot to take pictures or just take it in.

Though it is suggested I don't believe it is required, but wear a sarong out of respect. There is also a cash box to make a donation, which is also not required but a nice thing to do. Other than that, just enjoy. It's quite lovely.
