We've stayed several times at Hotel Irseer Klosterbrau, last time in august 2012.
The place is unique and extraordinaire in both buildings and ambiance, and the menu is absolute top class! Try the roasted duck!
The only thing that can be pointed out to be on the negative side is the attitude of some of the waitresses.
Never a smile, never a welcomming gesture, hardly a thank you for tips or a kind "welcome back" comment upon leaving.
What is disturbing is that also some of the young waitresses tend to adopt this "indifferent" attitude towards the customers.
Nevertheless, we'll be back next summer!

We enjoyed very much staying at the Irseer Klosterbraeu hotel. The hotel part of a complex that had been a monastery. It also has its own brewery. We stayed three days in mid-August, in the middle of a heat wave. The rooms were thankfully cool as a result of the thick walls. Our room was very well fitted out , plenty of space and very clean. The bathroom was roomy with an excellent shower. Breakfasts were very good, lots of choice of fruit, cereals, cold meats, cheese as well as scrambled egg and bacon. We ate dinner in their Summer garden each day. The food was excellent and they had a menu in English. Needless to say, the beer went down very well. The staff were very efficient and friendly. A very pleasant place to stay in a delightful part of the country, particularly if you like walking.

Excellent structure and a beautifully refurbished. BUT our maid (serving tables outside) was extremely RUDE AND NASTY, she did not speak a word of English and she did not offer us an English menu, then in spite of the wonderful evening we had to move inside looking forward a new maid.
All instructions for the SPA and the life in the hotel were in german and no words in other language (for example english). Just a question: if you don't want to speak international language, why do you accept international reservations ??
Even the experience in reception for check-out was particularly bad: three of my credit card did not work! Of course it was a line problem and after five minutes I paid petrol without problems! But the receptionist insisted in saying that the problem was of all my THREE credits cards!!
Good beers and food but I think that... in Germany this is not the only place in wich you can drink a good beer ! :-) so maybe it could be better to look for good beers, food and... KINDNESS.

If you want a peaceful stop. this is it. It is rustic, clean and historic. The food in the restaurant is typical and representiative of the area.
Their church is nice to visit.
The parking and internet are free!
Try their beer and breakfast. 2 things not to miss.
So many room choices.
The sauna is nice to relax.
The front desk wil guide you to local sights and lakes.
I would stay again.
TV is English and German of course,

Room Tip: To the street is a bit noisy. the back side is a nice view of the church

The hotel is a superbly renovated monastery with an own brewery. The rooms are very spacious, the bathrooms are beautifull and you have fully comfy rooms in an old and very well maintained building. The little spa is just gorgeous, the restaurant beautifull and the local food is good (and the portions very generous). The ratio qulity/price is excellent. The only negative aspect was how unfriendly the personel was, especially in the restaurant (breakfast and at night) and the ladies serving outside. They were just rude and this spoiled the long weekend we spent there. The personel were mostly elder woman that don't know what it is to be polite.....A real shame for such a lovely place.
It also the first hotel we have been where they charge you extra money for a baby cod.

We chose this hotel because I was doing a quality management course at the education centre. It certainly exceeded our expectations. The room was one of the most stylish we have stayed in anywhere in Germany - certainly there were single mattresses on the bed but that's Germany for you: only the big international hotels have full double mattresses. The bathroom had soap and shower gel although maybe not of a standard which went with the room quality. There was a sofa in the bedroom and a generous sized desk/table and free WiFi. The huge restaurant (divided up into cosy areas) had a good range of dishes on the menu and an excellent standard of cooking. Home brewed beer and a good range of wines. We would go out of our way to stay at this hotel; even without knowing what else there was to do in the area (there are actually plenty of lakes and castle within a short drive). And what a delight to stay in a hotel without the dreaded 'wellness'!
