If you want a peaceful stop. this is it. It is rustic, clean and historic. The food in the restaurant is typical and representiative of the area.
Their church is nice to visit.
The parking and internet are free!
Try their beer and breakfast. 2 things not to miss.
So many room choices.
The sauna is nice to relax.
The front desk wil guide you to local sights and lakes.
I would stay again.
TV is English and German of course,

Room Tip: To the street is a bit noisy. the back side is a nice view of the church

The hotel is a superbly renovated monastery with an own brewery. The rooms are very spacious, the bathrooms are beautifull and you have fully comfy rooms in an old and very well maintained building. The little spa is just gorgeous, the restaurant beautifull and the local food is good (and the portions very generous). The ratio qulity/price is excellent. The only negative aspect was how unfriendly the personel was, especially in the restaurant (breakfast and at night) and the ladies serving outside. They were just rude and this spoiled the long weekend we spent there. The personel were mostly elder woman that don't know what it is to be polite.....A real shame for such a lovely place.
It also the first hotel we have been where they charge you extra money for a baby cod.

We chose this hotel because I was doing a quality management course at the education centre. It certainly exceeded our expectations. The room was one of the most stylish we have stayed in anywhere in Germany - certainly there were single mattresses on the bed but that's Germany for you: only the big international hotels have full double mattresses. The bathroom had soap and shower gel although maybe not of a standard which went with the room quality. There was a sofa in the bedroom and a generous sized desk/table and free WiFi. The huge restaurant (divided up into cosy areas) had a good range of dishes on the menu and an excellent standard of cooking. Home brewed beer and a good range of wines. We would go out of our way to stay at this hotel; even without knowing what else there was to do in the area (there are actually plenty of lakes and castle within a short drive). And what a delight to stay in a hotel without the dreaded 'wellness'!

We were there for two nights, the hotel staff was really kind and helpful.
The rooms were clean and had everything we need. Very comfy bed (even with the fact that it was two single mattresses on two single beds pushed together)
its a beautiful village middle of nowhere and we loved our stay.

This is certainly something different, a hotel surrounded by a monastry that has a brewery. The rooms are basic with no extras like soap or shampoo and I believe most of the bed are singles. There are no other amenities like sauna or gym but there is a wonderful bar/retaurant with all the home brews where you could easily spend an entire day and night. The surrounding church and buildings adds to the fun but there is nothing else in the village so unless you are intending hill walking there really isn't much else to do. Overall, it's a superb experience for one night but much more could become a bit dragging.

This place on arrival blows you away.

It is part of a working monastery, complete with village, cathedral, brewery and hotel. What a combination!

Rooms are reasonably luxurious with excellent views and fittings. The only real downside is with the single beds in some of the rooms which are narrow and the bells from the monastery which start far too early and keep going in the morning.

The pluses though are big pluses.
The monastery complex is massive and immaculately maintained. A delight to wander round.
The hotel itself has its own beers on draft and for sale from Urbock to Weissbeer to Dunkel. All excellent. Added to this is some great food which can be taken indoors or outdoors.

A gem of a stay & one I'm itching to go back to.
