“one night stay”
Reviewed December 8, 2013

Was pleasently surprised when we arrived - grounds looked beautiful and hosts were lovely, informative and helpful. We would have liked to have one of the specialty rooms but they were only available for 2 people so we chose a 3 person one - which had a set of bunks and a double bed. Room itself was fine but it has no soundproofing and the neighbours were very loud :( (next door didnt sleep till about 2am then upstairs were up at about 5am!)
Shared kitchen, library and orchard were amazing - everything you could ever want in the kitchen, all so clean and tidy and what an amazing setup. Really loved everything about the place except for the lack of soundproofing - dont know if we would have been able to do more than 1 night.

Room Tip: dont stay in the bunk rooms if you can help it - can hear every word from the room next door - could...

When planning to complete some tracks in the Glass House Mountains the eco-lodge seemed the obvious place to stay as some of the tracks start only a few minutes walk from the lodge.

We arrived mid-afternoon and were taken around the property...it has an interesting history and the owners have placed a lot of energy into planting and maintaining various fruit trees as well as garden art made of recycled materials.

The family room was spacious and very clean. One queen bed and a bunk bed. The bathroom is not huge but we were happy with its size. Breakfast cost $10/pp and consisted of toast, spreads, fruit salad, etc. There is a communal kitchen in one of the converted train carriages where fresh eggs are also placed every morning. Tea, coffe and sugar are available to everyone.

Overall it was a very pleasant stay, quiet with a nice atmosphere. It is also worth discovering the walking track around the property.

Thank you for your recent stay at Glasshouse Mountains Ecolodge, and for taking the time to review your experience with us. We read and consider all feedback to see how we are keeping our promise of a naturally authentic, peaceful and affordable experience. It's great you were able to do some walks on the nearby trails, and enjoyed the walking track we have at the Ecolodge. I will pass on your comments to our housekeeping staff.
We look forward to welcoming you again when you are next in the beautiful Glass House Mountains.

I find it difficult to know where to start, the proprietor Keith was absolutely the best host,he was helpful with all planning of our stay, from organizing our chalets to pre booking our taxi to a family wedding, and making sure we were comfortable and enjoying our stay, the balinese chalet i stayed in with my 11 yr old daughter was simply beautiful, much larger bedroom and living area and full kitchen with all the mod cons, than i expected, very clean and private, the surrounding areas around all the accoms have amazing views of the mountains, there was an old train converted into a kitchen that guests can use if their accoms don't have cooking facilities and a lovely outdoor eating area, thre is also a free wifi hotspot in a relaxing lounging area on a deck,so I urge you if you are looking for a beautiful though not costly place to stay in this region whilst you either relax and do nothing,or wish to visit local tourist spots,eg the Australia Zoo(steve irwin)or the many other places to see,or buy the local wares, organic foods, etc than this most definitely is the place to stay.....

Room Tip: if you wish to cook your meals, and save on eating out, then i suggest you book the balinese chalet,it...

Thank you for staying with us at the Ecolodge and your review. I understand a family wedding can be a busy time and I was happy to be of some assistance. And whether it's a family wedding, a day at Australia Zoo, or a day exploring the Glass House Mountain's walking trails, as you say, its nice to return to the peacefulness of our Ecolodge.
We hope to see you again when you are next in the beautiful Glass House Mountains.

We booked to stay at this place a couple of months in advance with high expectations; however our experience was simply not great. The room we were given was tiny with a bathroom that made us wondering if we were staying in Japan or in Australia with hardly enough space to brush your teeth. No mirror in the bathroom but instead a window that faces the communal deck providing no privacy whatsoever.
Definitely not worth what we paid.

Sorry you were disappointed with your room choice. Your room is a generous 15.5 square metres plus an ensuite, of a comfortable 4 square metres. All our bathrooms have mirrors, however, thank you for the feedback,we will look to install a bigger mirror.
The lockable sliding window in the ensuite is made of textured opaque glass covered by easy to adjust timber shutters which allows you to control your privacy. The small deck outside the window is not an area for other guest to sit.
We are a small, authentic ecolodge that prides ourselves on offering quiet, peaceful, affordable experiences in a unique natural setting.
Thank you again for your feedback.

we (granny 84, me 57 and my nice 24) on the way from Germany to my sons wedding had a two nights stop in the ecolodge. We loved this wonderful place with its special athmosphere. Our multi room suite (Mt. Tibor suite) was perfect for us. Keith is very friendly. Quiet nights. Lovely terrasse with internet hot spot. Breakfast outside with nice view to the forest. Nearby glasshouse mountains lookout. We spent one day in the Australia Zoo wich is nearby.
Highly recommended place.

I wish I had known how truly beautiful this place was. I would have stayed longer. The rooms are very comfortable and the kitchen and reading rooms are in restored trains cars. There are also guest rooms in other train cars. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking, or you can order from the lodge. There are several walking trail around and through the grounds as well. There are guidebooks that identify the trees and plants, a full education. The lodge is also conveniently located to the mountains for easy access to the many hikes in the area. We would definitely come back.

We stayed at the ecolodge recently over the weekend and cannot fault it. We stayed in the orchard room, which has a queen size bed, small balcony and ensuite. The rooms were immaculate, the bed comfortable and the scenery great. Breakfast was great value at only $10 and served on the balcony with a restored railway carriage being the kitchen. The kitchen is also well set up with cooking facilties and fridge if you want to cook your own meals. Everything is so close by - the walks, national park and australia zoo, as well as not far from eumundie markets and other little villages. At only $110 per room per night this was such good value!! We will certainly come back here. Be warned - there is no TV and Wifi is possible but patchy but this is a bonus, as you really just want to relax...
