“Beautiful, relaxing budget getaway...”

What a lovely time we had at the ecolodge. We felt like getting away for a nice chill out, relaxing, switching off break and that is exactly what we got. There is nothing fancy here but the rooms ( we had a double) were comfortable and clean with no tv, which was great. Keith, the owner has put alot of love, time and work into creating a real beautiful place where you can cook you own food in the renovated old railway carriage. It felt like home really, very nice and we will be going back!

We stayed in the 120 yr old reno church for 4 nights. It was well renovated but the large cluster of mismatched decor took away from it's natural beauty. There was no TV but a framed photo of Woody Allen and flowers made of film strips which was ironic. The care taker gave us a tip to visit the near by Beehwah Hotel for dinner... he was right on, it was delicious and they hand plenty of GF options. Our room was only cleaned once during our stay which didn't bother us too much but the bins were over flowing by the time we left. It was quiet and even though there was lots of holidaying families staying around us. The fireplace really made our nights toasty and the views of the glass house mountains from this place is second to none.

We were late leaving broad beach to arrive at this hotel that we had booked online. The traffic north of brisbane was extremely thick and the bottleneck too much for us with two screaming kids in tow, that we turned around to brisbane. We finally made it to the eco lodge the next morning, and were utterly speechless. Keith has himself a fantastic lodge. The staff were extremely helpful. We loved the location (right near the australian zoo), the scenery, ambience, and colourful suites. The kitchen is in a renovated rail car!! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and the best endorsement we can give is we would stay here again in a heartbeat!!

My wife and I stayed here in room 4, 15th and 16th June. A large adequate comfortable room, self catering in a huge communal kitchen. Beautiful bird, trees. No TV, picked up my bottom lip and listended to the Crows win on my radio. Many beautiful walks through the Glass house mountains and brilliant views. BBQ was great, plenty of fridge space, no driving, great.

I stayed here with my girlfriend mid-May 2012. We cycled from Glass House Mountains railway station and were pleasantly surprised upon arrival, to be upgraded to a larger room, by the owner Keith who was very well-mannered. As it was not summertime there were very few mosquitoes around, (except in the rainforest walk), but we were encouraged to keep our screens closed anyway. The bed was extremely comfortable and we slept very well indeed. The only thing lacking really, was the internet access which was very limited, although on a short walk to Jack Ferris Lookout my phone had full signal before we were half way up. The garden/orchard was beautiful, charming and peaceful, and there are fact files in one of the railway carriages which can be taken around the garden with you providing education on the various trees & wildlife to be found thereabouts. The other railway carriage contains the kitchen, which was always clean & tidy, and where there is every utensil you could need on a self-catering holiday break. We did our own washing up but a couple of the other guests didn't, and no-one seemed to mind, it got done anyway. Breakfast was good, consisting of 1 egg, 1 piece of toast each, cereals, fruit and yoghurt, worth the $10 I'd say, although we ended up supplementing ours with extra eggs & bacon. I planted a sandpaper fig in the rainforest area with Keith's advice, and my girlfriend & I loved walking & cycling around this gorgeous part of the Queensland countryside. I thoroughly recommend this fine establishment with its strong emphasis on having a conscience & enjoying nature & the beautiful things in life.

Our extended family stayed here for a three-night week-end. This is a very special place- unique, with a range of great accommodation, incredible kitchen/dining car, train carriage library, numerous outdoor seating areas, fruit orchard, rainforest- the list goes on and on. I cannot imagine a better place to enjoy a group gathering- something for everyone. During the day we enjoyed the lovely outdoor areas, some of our group ventured to Montville/Maleny; some to Australia Zoo and the more energetic climbed Mount Tibbro. So much to do in this area, or you can just relax and lounge around. Keith and Sally were very accommodating and made us all feel very at home. Glasshouse Mountains Eco Lodge was so wonderful we have booked again for next year. We loved it!

Room Tip: Rooms vary in size and type- something for everyone here.

What a beautiful place, I wish I could take my whole family here.
My husband and I were lucky enough to stumble across this place on tripadvisor, so it is only right that we return the favour. We were looking to find somewhere close to the Australia Zoo and accessible by public transport. We were picked up at Glasshouse Mtns rail station which was great service (I should add that the connections from Brisbane were easy and also to the zoo). We were advised to buy food as otherwise food is a short drive away from the lodge. We purchased a cooked chicken and salad from the store by Beerwah rail station (there is also a pizza place next door to the supermarket and a wine/beer shop opposite). If you want to go out for a meal eg to the tavern by the rail station and you don't have a car we were advised that you can get the town shuttle or book a taxi from the lodge so no big deal. But to be honest we were more than happy to be eating at the lodge in such beautiful surroundings.
We arrived late but managed to squeeze in the 3.5km walk around one of the mountains (sorry my memory fails me for the name) and then tucked into dinner. As we were honeymooners they went out of their way to make our stay wonderful, and we stayed in the new bungalow which is gorgeous. Everything is done with eco-sense and beauty in mind. The only confusion for us was what to put in each recycle bin but that was maybe our oversite or a missing page in the folder.

But what a glorious place.
There is an orchard surrounding the ecolodge and an old church converted to a beautiful lodge, two train carriages, one which is the communal kitchen and the other the games room (I personally think they should convert the latter to a really cool room!). And there is free wifi around reception.
If you chance by Glasshouse Mountains, please don't stay anywhere else, and make sure you stay more than 1 night (we just didn't have time)....

Room Tip: If you can, stay in the bungalow, it's beautiful....
