My wife and I stayed at Glass on Glasshouse for three nights while she was recuperating from surgery and between chemotherapy treatments, and I have to say, it was just what the doctor ordered, a soothing, relaxing, refreshing experience. There's wonderful privacy. We didn't draw the curtains once, and enjoy waking naturally with the early light, relaxing in the bath with wallabies feeding outside. Hot air balloons drifted by. Birds sung in the trees. It was healing on so many levels.

Here now on the balcony chilling enjoying the views .... Awesome!
Utter rubbish what other 'overrated' from Sydney says .....staying in a beautiful pod at an incredible reasonable price. The thought and detail that goes into this place is incredible....just so wished that we had booked more than just two nights! The owners Bill and Misao must be really proud of what they have avhieved.
Breakfast provisions more than what was expected and coffee great .... Proper barista so much better than pods!
Bed sooooooo comfy and the whole place is oh so beautiful ..... Went to Australia Zoo today ..great time but couldnt wait to get back to enjoy a glass of wine and some nibbles on the balcony before dinner. ... A very special place .....our last night .... Will be sad to leave......

We shared a lovely anniversary here last week, we have stayed here before and loved it. A beautiful spot for 2. Looks like its starting to need a little updating but nothing too serious! You can cook dinner in the lovely kitchen & have a super bath in the spa bath. Very private & natural with a mob of beautiful roo's to keep you company. Could do with some comfier seats on the deck... Super romantic getaway where there are loads of bush walks. Lastly check out the super milkshakes at the cafe you can easily walk to super!

I was impressed by the website for this establishment and planned our trip specially to include a night there. While it was pleasant, it was no more than that, and did not live up to the stellar expectation created by the website. My impression was of interesting but somewhat dated cabins that might have been awesome 5 or 10 years ago. The coffee machine was grubby and low rent, the TV system did not work satisfactorily, the electric bbq so disappointing that we did not even consider using it. The sliding toilet door was stiff and needed to be serviced. The provisions were not of the standard you might expect when paying this kind of money. Overall, while a 'nice' stop, the reality did not meet my expectations and I came away disappointed.

99% of our guests get what we have set out to do, and really get a kick out of staying here. The proof is in the very high number of returning guests we get. We have created a very uniquely designed 'pod' which is unlike most country-style cottages. It's light, open plan, spacious, has great views from the lounge, bathroom and bedroom, innovative features (such as the spa bath that fills from the ceiling), lovely polished timber floors, and a simple espresso machine that makes good coffee (that;s not just our opinion, Choice magazine said it made better coffee than many much more expensive models). The BBQ is electric so it's a no-brainer for anyone to use (and you'll find that most BBQs in National Parks are also electric, but no one complains about that). If the sliding toilet door is sticking I'll certainly look into that. To use the word 'dated' is simply incredible, as these 'pods' are only 5 years old and are still light years ahead of anything else in Australia (and we regularly stay at 5* properties just to check). So sometimes you just have to shake your head in disbelief, grin and bear it, and know that what you've built can never satisfy 100% of the population. I would also recommend that travellers consider staying for more than one night. If you only stay one night you don't really get the time to relax, unwind and appreciate the ambience, design, views etc, or to take advantage of the many, many good features built into these 'pods'. Also, if you've lived through many years and are used to doing things in a certain way (and don't travel very often), then if you only stay one day you'll be faced with a different mattress to what you have at home, a different TV, a different remote, a different A/C system, a different BBQ.....by the time you've begun to familiarise yourself with these items it'll be time to check-out!! We offer a home away from home, a beautifully designed place in a lovely location.

We could only stay one night which was enough as we are local really and once in a while need a night away. It is very close to Australia Zoo which would be fabulous for many. Nice location in the middle of the Glass House Mountains. As for view hmmm...not much you could see for the trees. I was a little disappointed in that. Maybe it was the room we had which was the last one over. I would have enjoyed at least a view of the neighbouring gardens which were being worked. It was huge!
The place itself was like a shoebox. That huge glass window was pretty cool but privacy?? If I can see you...they can see us. Would have preferred the kitchen near the glass and the bathtub on the backside. So never did use it. Shame.
There was previous complaint about the electric bbq not being gas. I had read several reviews so I knew to bring our own food because driving at night on those roads you don't know with Roo's around and quite a distance out to go for a meal thought that best. I had no problems with the bbq and was easy as to clean. Had a kookaburra sit on the railing waiting for his bit. He enjoyed it too!
The tv was great and probably the music set up too but we tend to listen to our own thing if and when we do.
There was a nice selection of breakfast food as well. Hot and cold choices. Fruit was lovely. In fact I was surprised there was even oil for cooking. That side of things was really great!
For what I must mention as well, this is a highly rated place and not exactly inexpensive. For all of our traveling we've come to expect a few things for this price and rating level.

The bed.....a rock. I turned and tossed all night in back pain. A mattress laid on top of whatever is just not good for sleeping. Maybe for young people but at that cost I would think many of your customers would be a bit older.
The edging around the bed is black...around the bathtub the stepping is white and because of the blending my shins took a few painful knocks.
Coffee machine is totally outdated. Have you not heard of pods. You can supply all 3 rooms with a new machine from say Aldi's for just one night's stay from the cost of one room. Would make a much nicer coffee to start your day.
Generic brands all over including toilet paper...really??
A non stick frypan would be much appreciated. They can be bought at low enough prices to change every 6 mths or so instead of having to clean btw servings because the pan is unusable.
These might be small things but can go a long way for travelers.
I did get some nice snaps on the way out of the small mob of Roo's.

Room Tip: Trying asking for the first or second room. Maybe you might have a better view on maybe one mountain?

Thanks for your nice compiments about the location, BBQ, walls of glass, TV, Sound system, breakfast and fresh fruit. The cottages are in a line, so you don't overlook anyone else and have maximum privacy. In the 5 or so years we've been open we've only had one guest complain about someone walking in front of their cottage, and since then we now ask guests at check-in not to do this (rather than rely on our polite request in the compendium). So the only things that might be looking-in on you are kangaroos, possums Kookaburras and Cockatoos!!

So we offer a wonderful view of our grounds (20 acres altogether) , the tall gum trees in the distance and one or both of the two highest of the Glass House Mountains. It's not the hanging gardens of Babylon, but it's very green, natural and quite spectacular. And because of the large glass walls you get this view from the bedroom, bathroom, lounge and deck as well, which is pretty cool. We have even raised the spa bath onto a pedestal so it feels more like a royal throne, and this adds to the bathroom's visual impact and to the views. I find it difficult to understand why you'd want to hide the bathroom away in some dark corner, -it's an important room in this modern age so should be a centrepiece, and should take advantage of those views. If you are paranoid about privacy, you shouldn't book a place that advertises "walls of glass" or you can just pull down the blinds.
The other comments are fairly minor:
The mattress is a good quality medium-firm commercial one with a mattress topper on top. If you are used to soft bed or water bed then this would feel strange, but for everybody else it's very comfortable.
We chose to have an espresso machine because it makes good coffee! We considered pods, but chose this instead as it's more durable/reliable. We do provide an instruction sheet for those who haven't used one before. Also, the few places that offer pods tend to only give you one day's supplies (if at all) and you have to purchase any others, whereas we provide enough freshly ground coffee for your entire stay.
The frying pan is an expensive RACO stainless steel one with an aluminium base that provides enhanced heat distribution whilst eliminating hot spots. We prefer this to your cheap Teflon ones that only last a few months. If you don't burn your food, then it's easy to clean (and we have a dishwasher as well).
