“A home from home.”
Reviewed October 13, 2012 via mobile

Stayed here for 2 weeks on business. I had odd and variable start times for work but the landlady had no problems with being flexible to suit my schedule. A reasonable pub is in walking distance for lunch/dinner and the breakfast part of the B&B was first class. A 300m walk will see you stood in the free grounds of Blenheim Palace and is ideal as a running/walking/cycling venue to let off steam after work. The rooms had free Wi-Fi, homely decor and plenty of storage space. The nearby Turnpike inn served simply amazing food. No cash point in Bladon but the next few villages along have a small CoOp with more nice country pubs etc. Woodstock is next to Bladon but is very crowded during the day. Things that could do with improving? Possibly a desk in the room to work at (although the landlady has no problem with you using the ground floor tearooms even if they are closed if you ask). Speaking of the tea rooms, they are open Friday through Sunday and seem popular. The limited parking at the front of the B&B is asked to be made available to tea room guests between 10am and 4pm, which proved to be inconvenient for me during my middle weekend stay as I felt obliged to move my car the 200m down the road to the pub car park then walk back to my room to work. Maybe making spaces available to guests staying for Friday and Saturday night would be a suitable compromise.

My husband and I stayed at the Park House for 2 nights in Sept '12. We had a wedding in Woodstock and The Park House was a good location only a few miles away, making it very easy to just drive back and forth between Woodstock and Bladon. We had one of the loft rooms and were so pleasantly surprised by the high standard of finishings. The room was decorated beautifully and everything matched and had a personal touch. Attention had been paid to detail, down to the tea mugs. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the room was warm and cosy, the bed very comfortable. Everything was very clean and the shower had very good pressure.

We both had the Full English breakfast, which was delicious, perfectly cooked and prepared so quickly. The proprietor was accommodating in our late check in time and was very friendly and helpful .

Very pleasant stay, we would definitely stay again!

What a lovely place. We only stayed for one night for a visit to Blenheim Palace (ideal base) and would definately go again. We stayed in the Burgundy room which was light airy and tastefully decorated. Good tea/coffee making facilities and shower was excellent. The whole place is very clean and comfortable. The owner makes you feel very welcome and will provide lots of information on what to do and where to eat etc. Breakfast was freshly cooked and was very good with refills for drink and toast offered. Free wi-fi worked well. The room is on the main road and a little noisy but this did not bother us. Would definately recommend.

We stayed here for 3nights in the navy room. The room and house was very clean throughout and nicely decorated. Our room was on the small side and the glass in the bathroom door offered little privacy when in use. The bed was comfortable. We assume the boiler was situated in our room as the noise from this disturbed us when other guests turned their showers on. The traffic noise was also a problem for us. That said the proprietor was welcoming and friendly, offering good advice on places to visit and where to park.
The breakfast was freshly prepared and good, we did not use the tea room

Room Tip: I would suggest if you stay here that you book a room other than the navy one.

My wife and I stayed here for two nights in June (18th and 19th) in the Superior Room and found it well equipped, nicely furnished and very comfortable. The bathroom was large and modern with a good shower but no bath and had a good supply of toiletries, a nice touch. There is a small roof terrace with chairs and a table and we were able to sit out, which was a treat! The proprietor, Sharon, was very welcoming and made sure we were comfortable and had all the information we required for our stay. We were able to use the car park adjoining the property during our stay and always found plenty of space. The road outside is busy and we did notice some traffic noise, but not a problem and it did make it easier to get around. The full English breakfast was freshly prepared to our requirements each morning and was superb! We did not eat in the local pub but drove into Woodstock both evenings (about 5 minutes) and found a good selection of pubs and restaurants in which to eat. Would happily stay again.

Room Tip: The Superior Room has a small roof terrace with a table and chairs.

We stayed here for one night last week.
Accommodation of high standard for a B&B. We had a huge bed. Decor was good and the property very clean.
Our Host (Owner) was very friendly and helpful, recommending several places to eat.
Park House also has a Tea Room on the ground floor.
Our purpose was a stopover on the way home south, and to visit Bladon Church and Blenheim Palace.
Park House was ideal in this respect and I would recommend it to others.
Furthermore it was excellent value when compared against some of the expensive hotels in th Bladon/Woodstock area.

Room Tip: There are, I understand only 3 rooms? at this B&B - all en suite. Shouldn't be any problem...

We stayed here whilst attending the triathlon at Blenheim Palace. Tremendous value for money, particularly after we looked at a hotel in Woodstock which was £200 more! (although I know thats comparing apples with pears). But for what we wanted it was perfect, extremely clean and comfortable with a huge (I guess 6' wide) double bed. I only wish my own house was decorated to such a high standard. None of the little niggles people seem to have with b&b's, everything worked perfectly, no problems with the en-suite or anything. Breakfast was also fine. Very handy for the palace, we would definitely return

Room Tip: Important to know that you cannot leave your car there on the day you check out as they need the spa...
