“Great time in Port Barton”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 18, 2013

We took a 5hr boat from El Nido and had a great 3 days chilling in Port Barton.
It was our first time staying in a hut, normally were air-con all the way, but it we did manage just fine with only a fan and the limited hours of electricity. The cottages have mosquito netting built inside the walls as well as a mosquito net for the bed so no trouble with bugs. Everything is very clean, well looked, and fairly new.
The coldest beer in town was actually sitting on our own porch thanks to Dan providing coolers and ice, he also makes a great coffee in the morning.
Lots of decent restaurants all around to eat at and a good hike to the waterfall you should try.

My fiancée and I stayed for 4 nights and we had to really drag ourselves away, we arrived after a long trip in a side car, the owner had his staff take our bags and handed us a welcomed, freezing cold beer. We rented a little house, each morning we sat outside drinking coffee and looking out at the beach whilst the birds whistled and the cocks did their thing. Used the kitchen to cook up bacon and eggs which you can buy from one of the many little shops dotted about before setting off island hopping or for a lovely stroll along the beach. The local community are wonderful and welcoming and you are never "hassled". The value for money couldn't be better, we drank wine provided by Dan (who clearly knows his wine) and really felt part of the family.

They only thing I would advise against is a motor cycle side car journey there, it's simply not fit for purpose. We hesitated about going because of the journey but we so glad we chose to make the trip as soon as we arrived.

Our laundry was done, anything you want to do during the day can be arranged at a very reasonable cost through his staff, you never feel the need to barter.

Try it for one night but allow for an extension because you won't want to leave.

Wonderful!

We (four of us) turned up on motorbikes covered in mud from head to toe and "stumbled" into Dan the owner of the property. We had just ridden 150km through a typoon and Dan immediately set about to make us comfortable. Wonderful traditional cottages on the beach! Close to good reastaurants and an ideal place in which to base yourself to island hop...which we will do when we return later this year. Apparently Dan makes a great coffee accordingly to my buddy, but I stuck to the cold beer that he provided the moment we arrived.
