“Pathetic, they don't know how to run a restaurant”
Reviewed December 29, 2011

Food is cheaper than most places in town and its setting is not bad either - reasons why we thought we'd give it a try. Food took 2 hours to be served. And if you think that food should be really good since it took a long time for it to be prepared, forget about it! I ordered grilled chicken and it came out as tasteless steamed chicken without any sauce. Our friends ordered 2 pancakes and were really burnt. The waitress offered to replace it, which we accepted but half an hour later she came back telling us that the replacement is burnt again as their stove keeps going on/off. We ordered mango shakes but could hardly taste mangoes in it, was just water and ice. When it was time to pay, it took at least 10 minutes for them to finish computing our bill and another 5 minutes to give our change back. Everything in this place is terribly slow, staffs just don't have any sense of urgency at all. There were 12 customers in the restaurant altogether and there were 7 staffs on duty so we don't know why it took so long for them to prepare the food. We are very patient people and don't mind waiting but 2 hours to prepare such simple orders is just ridiculous.

“Fabulous seafood and great prices!”
Reviewed April 4, 2008

Located in the Pagdanan Bay is Port Barton, roughly halfway between Puerto Princesa and El Nido. If you find yourself shacking up here for a couple of days to enjoy the laid back atmosphere and the white sand beaches (when the weather is good), be sure to visit Ayette's Bamboo House Restaurant!

Located an easy five minute stroll from the beach, you'll see others dining at this popular restaurant. They have plenty of seating in an elevated section (where most guests remove their shoes) and on the ground floor. You can also wash your hands right there by the door, which will be necessary when you grub on all the seafood here!

They have an extensive menu offering stuffed squid, shrimp various ways, fried chicken, pork, beef, and a breakfast menu even! But the real winner is what is off the menu! Ask about their daily specials and you'll find crab crab crab! We came here twice for their crabs and it was oh-so good! Full of flavor and finger lickin' good! They are definitely cheaper than eating at the hotels and resorts and you get more of a locals' feel too.

Be sure to go early though because they do run out. Oh, I wish I had some of that crab now!
