“50th Birthday Trip”
Reviewed April 30, 2014

Again, like other reviews we both thoroughly enjoyed our four nights at this hotel.

We stayed in the log cabins positioned slightly above the hotel which was centrally located for our trips and just a minute walk to the hotel for our meals and trips. They were tremendous, three bedrooms, two bathrooms, fully equipped kitchen and sitting area, lovely and clean and very warm it has also a dryer for any wet clothes t.v and a sauna area.

Hotel served food of a very good standard, I am very picky but ate very well each day. You can look out over the ski slopes while having your meal. There is a bar area which caters for most drinks, nice and quiet. The hotel also has an adequate swimming pool and provides free of charge all in one thermal suits, hats and gloves for your excursions. They also hire snow shoes and toboggan's for a small fee.

All of the staff here are really friendly and provide an excellent service, cannot fault their commitment and enthusiasm, it makes that big difference. We went on excursions each day which were safely supervised, of an adequate duration and thoroughly enjoyable. The transfers from hotel to airport and also the trips were also very comfortable and professionally organised.

Would definitely return and recommend to others, tremendous trip and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves

Superb week in this hotel, met some lovely people. Can only echo the previous reviews, everything was spot on. Do not choose this hotel/resort if you are looking for wild après-ski but if its gorgeous uncrowded slopes, excellent ski equipment, friendly service and great opportunities for other winter wonderland activities you are looking for, go for it! We will definitely be back.

We had a wonderful time in this lovely hotel. Food was good, service excellent, location first class. Skiing was excellent for beginners. From arriving at the airport to leaving a week later we felt like we were in a winter wonderland. Our rep Caterina was amazing and Dan, our ski instructor was fantastic. Best holiday ever.

Room Tip: All the rooms are nice.

I recently travelled to Finland with my husband and 17year old son and 12 year old daughter with Crystal Ski. We stayed at the ISo Syote Hotel. We had a fantastic holiday and found it very hard to fault the hotel and entire holiday.
The coach transfer was great and shorter than we expected even with a stop to a large supermarket in Kussamo to stock up on supplies - great idea as the items at the resort were limited. The rep Katarina was lovely, very friendly, knowledgable and a lovely person.
The hotel was great - we had two rooms and as requested they were next to each other. The rooms were just like the photo in the brochure - clean, confortable and warm but not over fussy. There was plenty of storage and a great seperate cupboard where we put all of the ski clothes.
We were staying half board and the food offering was great. It changed everyday and there was something for everyone including drinks water, juice and tea and coffee. The food was very tasty and gave a good reflection of finnish food. The cakes that were sometimes served for dessert were to die for - the best carott cake I have ever tasted!!!
It was a true ski in and ski out hotel as long as you could manage to ski down a blue run and get up the Tbar drag lift - which fortunately we could all do. If not there was a bus that you could catch for 2 euros a person. There was a locker room in the hotel positioned in just the right place for skiing in and out.
The only small negative of the hotel is that the pool was a little cool and could have done with a Jacuzzi but the saunas were seperate male and female and looked newly built and very warm.
The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly.
The slopes were fantastic, empty and full of lovely white powdery snow. It snowed nearly every day!! The staff on the slopes were very friendly and helpful. There is a hut at the bottom of the family slopes with a fire lit all of the time where you can rest and even cook sausages (bought from the local shop) on the grill on the fire.
The ski hire shop is well stocked with what look like new equipment which is hardly used - they were also very helpful and friendly.
My husband and son skied on most of the slopes and were very impressed with the variety of them. My daughter and I mainly stayed on the family slopes and these were great to perfect skiing techniques.
We didnt get to see the Northern Lights as there was cloud coverage the whole time but this kept the temperature warmer which was better. The lowest it got was -2 but I understand it can get much much colder. It certainly was a winter wonderland from the minute we landed to the minute we took off.
I would definetly recommend this hotel and will be going back!!
Just a few tips - take your own tea and coffee as they charge you at the hotel to refill your room allowance. We took mug shots and cup a soups to eat in the room for lunch to keep the cost down as feeding a family of four in the restuarant would have been expensive.
It is a very small resort with only the hotel, shi hire shop, resturaunt and a shop. It was great for us as we had a lovely relaxing holiday but if you want nightlife or lots of apres ski choice you might be disappointed.

We stayed at this resort in 2013 and loved it so much, we returned this year with my nephew as well. From pick up at airport to returning to the airport it was brilliant. The weather was good, we had snow one day. Lessons were professional, friendly and very good, they got my nephew from never skied to doing the black runs and jumps. The hotel couldn't do enough for you, even providing the sewing kit to repair the salopettes, we spent a lovely evening in the Koito around the log fire with wine. Katrina the rep is brilliant, always friendly helpful and happy to sit and chat with us. I couldn't fault this resort. If you are looking for lively nightlife and shops its not for you but for us folks that ski once a year and love to just ski and take a coffee at the bottom it is brilliant, most days we were the only ones on the slopes. Im already looking at booking again.

Room Tip: We stayed in the log cabins, a 1 bed with 2 beds in the lounge, was perfectly functional.

We stayed last week in a 1 bed-roomed log cabin which was lovely, well equipped, warm and very clean. There is a TV in the cabin with a reasonable selection of English language programs. There was an open fire with logs provided by the hotel which created a lovely atmosphere in the cabin at night, but if you didn't want to light it the cabin was warm enough without it. We were b&b so had a 5 minute walk to the hotel for breakfast and evening meals which was no problem and the food was excellent.

We booked through Crystal and the rep Katarina was great, always about if you needed anything. Katarina stopped the bus on the transfer to the resort to allow a quick trip around a supermarket which was really useful as the small shop in resort is quite poorly stocked.

The staff at the hotel were really also really friendly and helpful and all spoke English very well.

The skiing was good, although one of the 2 longer blue runs was closed for most of the week, only opening on the Saturday before we left and then quite icy.

Also available at the hotel were Arctic suits free of charge which were really needed when walking around or going on the trips,

I would definitely go back and would recommend it.

We saw the reviews now to experience the reality and I have to say we were not disappointed, from the moment we stepped off the plane the magic began, we arrived in finland to be greeted to the fact nearly everyone speaks English hen we met out rep Katrina who is lovely approachable always smiling and always pleased to help. We arrived at the hotel and the coach delivered us right to the door of the cabin so our walk was approx 3 feet to the door. We were half board the breakfast is typically European cold meats cereal bread rolls toast juice but there is sausages eggs and bacon too which you need to help with the energy you will use, everywhere we went the people were friendly always smiling always offering advice and pleased to help.

We pre booked skis and lift passes so Monday am we caught the bus at a cost of 2 euros per person to the bottom of the slope we collected our skis and we were skiing the whole process took less than ten minutes, there were never any queues and if there was never for more than 2 minutes, the temp started at 0 degrees and dropped to -19.5 by end of the week but with wind chill approx -25

Dinner at the hotel was great fresh salmon, reindeer, beef, pork and always 3 courses we never went hungry, we followed this by a few drinks in the bar then off to the cabin, inside the cabin we had shower rooms underfloor heating sauna kitchen tv and DVD but were always to tired we just chilled in front of the open fire.

The staff at the hotel are always willing to help always smiling I applaud them we did the snow mobile taster and the husky taster and both trips were well organised and very enjoyable, we used the artic suits supplied by the hotel along with snow boots woolen socks balaclavas and mittens and we were like toast.

Overall I would give our holiday the thumbs up the only suggestion maybe more bus runs to the bottom of the slopes for non skiers, but saying that we will definitely be back and we will be requesting our same lodge T1B.

I will end by saying thank you to Katrina and all the staff at the hotel and ski shop for making our first ski holiday perfect you are all an asset to crystal ski.

Room Tip: If in a 6 birth lodge ask for T1B it's closest to hotel
