We stayed in a bautiful villa with a fantastic view to the sea. The food at the hotel restaurant is excellent, but the villa was perfectly equipped also for cooking. We spent some lay days just relaxing at our villa, dipping into the sea and walking on the beautiful cliffs. We can warmly recommend this place!

I had reasonably high expectations coming here but after two hours i was blown away. I have stayed at some of the worlds most expensive and best hotels in the world but havsvidden has something many others dont..massive experience. Let me walk you through it:

- the hotel building is very nice, faar from super luxury and awesome but its a great place and a fantastic view high up overlooking the ocean.

- the restaurant is again very nice, not the best restaurant, food or service but its a great place. Good food, kind and personal service and a view to die for.

- spa/pool/beach is...again very nice, not the best i have been to by any means but the combonation of features and the location with a view that is sensational makes it stand out.

- rooms/house..we rented a cliff house which i can really recommend. Not cheap but worth every penny. Excellent scandinaviand seasode design, increadible light, amazing views and brilliant features and a location that cant be matched by many places in the nordics.

So, all in all, none of the ingredients (except location and views) are world class but the way the team at havsvidden has made it all come together is what makes this place a world class venue. So, i would really recommend anyone coming here, rent a cliff house, go for a swim, relax, drink some great wine etc. Just have a great and very different experience.

Top notch for me

Stayed once again at this amazing resort. With great location and breathtaking views this has become a summer favorite to visit. The hotel has a remote location which they really compensate for. Excellent restaurant which was managed by the talented head waiter Simon. The staff in general is very service minded and will make sure that you are enjoying every second at the resort. The rooms are on the smaller side but when staying here the room is not that important.
The chef has composed a wonderful menu with typical ingredients from the island. Hotel serves a cake buffet every afternoon for a nominal price. Breakfast is included in the rate and is more than adequate.
I truly can recommend this resort to anyone.

We rented a brand new Suite House (Svithus) for two persons right at the waterfront with stunning views In every direction. We had a panoramic window set up from floor to ceiling and the scenery dominated the chracter of the house from the bathroom to the very elegant studio side. The Swedish architect Thomas Sandell has done a spectacular job in designing these unique houses on the cliffs. They are very modern in a good way, with angles and deck areas designed to extend the nature to indoors to thouroughly enjoy this wild, rugged and dramatic nature in a continuously. The houses fit snugly in between the rocks, cliffs and the weathered pine trees, and the terraces, of which there are plenty, are built around the nature elements often saving pine trees that shoot up like bonsai trees from the terrace corners.

It is breathtaking upon entry and the esthetic sensation continues through the stay. From our east facing house we could follow the morning sun rising and become totally mesmerized by such a simple thing.

The houses are all well furbished and meet the requirements of the most demanding quests hands down. Each house is uniquely designed by the owners and comfort level is extremely high, which counterbalances nicely with the dramatic nature outdoors and one can see how fantastic these houses are even late in the autumn.

The staff is extremely firendly, led by Managing Director and owner Mikael Kraft upon whose vision this great achievement has been built, bit by bit and sustainably since he took over in 2005. This is a well managed property.

You come here for the views, nature and architecture and for a very relaxing experience. And it is all very well worth the price. There are plenty of toys, which they like quiet, suh as bikes to borrow to get around and the gym is a very good recent addition. Future development plans are also promising. The restaurant menu needs more options, and there the price quality dips a bit ever so slightly, for the time being. Having said that, if you plan to visit the Nordics and you will stay in say, just a couple of places, let me make this very clear: don't pass this one, go to Åland if just to go to Havsvidden - you will not be disappointed if you collect truly unique and exceptionally beautiful places offering super luxurious accommodation.

We had a most relaxing stay here on a bicycle trip. We totally enjoyed the stunning views and landscape, and enjoyed the services of the hotel: pool house, friendly staff, classy food. Had a room with partial sea view - considering the view on a sunny midsummer day, the "partial" was good enough for us. Also, although a classy act, there was no unnecessary bling bling there - the style was right for the archipelago and the hotel was well landscaped on the rocks. Best hotel experience in Åland so far.

Our two night stay at Havsvidden was a very welcome restful moment in an otherwise busy nine week trip! Staff were friendly, courteous and efficient, especially Anders, who told us about the seafaring history of the Alands with its Australian connections and gave us lots of ideas on things to do after we left. The setting is glorious and we loved the safe harbour for boats which was a focus of interest both with the boats and the people who arrived in them. The hot tub, pool and saunas were excellent and provided a chance to meet other guests. Breakfast was excellent as was the dining area both inside and out. Guests were all from Sweden and Finalnd and were astonished to see Australians there, but were extremely welcoming and interested to hear about Tasmania. Meals generally were very good, but of limited choice and quite expensive and there were no nearby alternatives. We were told that changes to this situation are currently being considered. Our room was very small, but clean with comfortable beds and an excellent bathroom. We were disappointed that in such a setting, the layout and orientation of the buildings meant that only the most expensive rooms had a view of the sea. There were, however, many locations outside the rooms, such as balconies with furniture and the pool area, to enjoy the surroundings.

Room Tip: Cheaper rooms ("standard twin") have only a small window without a view Suites and cliff...

This is a stunning hotel in a beautiful location. We spent three delightful evenings enjoying the view from the shared balcony. The rooms were small but well equipped and the breakfast was really excellent. The service and the staff were friendly and great. We will definitely be back.
