Description: Welcome to Dwight, Lake of Bays, Muskoka. Ontario. We offer a full breakfast, fresh baked goods, and lunch. Our soups, burgers, chili, salads, baked goods are all made fresh. Our atmosphere is casual and friendly. Our patio is relaxing and sunny. We are worth the drive to Dwight! We are conveniently located in Dwight on Hwy 60, minutes from Algonquin Park or Huntsville. We also have a gift shop to browse through. Our gift shop has something for everyone including moose lovers. We have a beautiful motel (Dwight Village Motel) directly beside us. Relax at the nearby Dwight Beach on beautiful Lake of Bays, hike a trail in Algonquin Park, take a scenic drive, or explore the local snowmobile trails. Pick a season to enjoy Dwight, Muskoka!

Excellent varied menu with nothing over $10. Great coffee. Great deserts. Friendly and PROMPT service. Apparently in previous incarnations the Moose was noted for poor service. Not now. It is worth the short drive out of Huntsville.

The Moose Cafe is a nice clean roadside diner/gift shop on Highway 60 on the west end of Dwight Ontario. Nothing fancy but service is attentive and food is tasty and quantities sufficient.
Good spot to stop for a bite on the way in or out of Algonquin Park as it is close to the west gate.

Potato and Leek soup was good but appeared to be made with a water rather than normal cream base. Toasted western(you can't mess that up too badly) was a good size and had cheese in the egg portion. Muskoka salad was excellent with smoked salmon and bacon along with a nice maple dijon dressing. Soft drinks were a little pricey with a can of ginger ale $2.25 and obviously no refills.

One downside was that they were "out of chile" and it was only Monday about 12:15 PM so I suspect they may not have made any that day

Restaurant was decorated in the moose theme and was very clean and tidy. Not that busy over lunch hour(only 7 diners) although it was a Monday in April when we visited.

Restaurant has an attached gift shop which sells Muskoka type souvenirs at somewhat inflated prices

Would return again but not for fine dining

After receiving a tip from a friend, we checked out The Moose Cafe as our breakfast stop, during our last Huntsville/Muskoka visit.
As we enter the restaurant, the interior invites you in... the seating is comfortably spread out, no squeezing by your neighbour here. The decor is comfortably ecclectic.
Staff were very friendly and greeted us warmly. I had the Lumberjacks Breakfast and am able to say that I finished it all,Barely! My wife had the Muskoka Scramble with Ham, in her words, AWESOME!!! Our daughter had the healthy Fruit Salad and an order of Home Frieswhich she downed with the healty appetite of a teenager. The food was all home cooked style, the Homefries were excellent and the homemade multi-grain toast was extremely filling and delicious., Breakfast for three including drinks(2 coffees and a large glass of chocolate milk) was under $30.00 including tip!!
A GREAT place to stop. They also had an interesting little gift shop attached, and you just have to try their "Man Sauce".. A "MUST" try for Breakfast and from the look at the menu, Lunch and Supper!! We will Definetly be back!!

i had the burger with peameal (a great bun, not a plain hamburg bun) ) and home fries. My burger filled the whole bun. My wife had the chili. The chili was a very good helping. Home cooked and great service.

Visited for breakfast on a sunday, and was quite impressed with the hearty homecooked meals, choose the classic great canadian moose breakfast (2 eggs, 2 pieces of back bacon, homefries (skillet grilled) and localy baked bread. Great dish with good size portions. My friends had the moosecakes (pancakes) and the lumberjack breakfast (1 beerfeast sausage, 3 eggs, backbacon, toast and homefries) and were equally happy with their meals. Was impressed by the fast and friendly service at a clearly busy time, and will reccommend coming here! Looked at the dinner and lunch menus and will be coming back to try the features for lunch and dinner! The dining room was a pleasent atmosphere, very clean with alot of art and souveniers on display to purchase, and featured two fireplaces (one newly constructed) which added to the muskoka feel.
