OK, Hobro, Denmark is so far from the beaten path that there almost is no path and most people would have no reason to go there. Here's one, the Bramslev Gaard, a beautiful little hotel in the countryside about ten minutes cab ride from the Hobro train station. A small piece of heaven it is.
Built in an old manor house, my room was a compact kitchenette with a sleeping loft, beautifully decorated and spotlessless clean, surrounded by the fields of the surrounding farm, and about a kilometer's walk to the nearby fjord.
Breakfast was in the main house, and typically Danish, with meats, cheeses, brown bread, fruit and yogurt and a very accomodating kitchen staff willing to prepare almost anything within reason. In general, the owners were very, very nice and helpful, and spoke excellent English.
I have a client in Hobro, plan to stay here everytime I visit, and might even persuade my wife to go with for a little holiday.More
