Wonderful Dinner for 2!! Franke - Co-Owner, Front of House who is an excellent Host, Celene - co-owner and wife of Franke, the 'Power' in the Kitchen and Katya who knows her wines! What a Great Family Team which makes this such a Special Restaurant. You can be assured of the Best ingredients cooked to perfection, served with panache. The decor of the stone ceiling together with the guitar background music gives this little place an excellent 'French Atmosphere' which we will remember for ever!

We were slightly nervous venturing out for lunch with little French vocabulary, but our fears were alayed immediately by Franke the co owner of L’Auberge, who welcomed us warmly and showed us to our outside table , where we joined friendly locals, who seemed amused by our trepidation.

Katya, the young waitress, took us patiently through the menu, with great descriptions by her of each offering, allowing us, sometimes correctly, to translate first. We enjoyed three courses plus cheese of the freshest, most flavoursome french cooking accompanyed by local wine. Selene, the chef, and co owner and wife of franke came out to check we were happy with our food - a very welcome touch.

We would highly recommend a visit to l’auberge, you won’t be disappointed. Food is sourced locally, and Katya told us with great pride that we would not find any chips or ketchup on the menu so we knew we would be in for a treat.

We arrived at the start of a busy Saturday evening only to discover that because of my limited French skills, I'd made our reservation for the wrong evening. But we were still warmly greeted by the owner Franck. This is one of the few restaurants we found in France that can prepare a vegan meal (other than salad) on the spot without advance notice. Franck made us feel as though we were old friends. When I couldn't understand certain French words on the menu, he enthusiastically pantomimed or brought ingredients out from the kitchen to show us. Knowing my dietary restrictions, he was kind enough to think to tell me in advance that even though the soup looked like it wasn't vegan, it was. Our meals were outstanding and we enjoyed it so much that we returned for dinner the next evening. If we lived nearby, we'd visit every week both for the food and because we enjoyed Franck and his wife & chef Celine so much. The outdoor patio is on a quiet, picturesque street and indoors is just as nice. Like everyone else says, you will talk about this meal long afterwards. Franck and Celine love their work and it shows in the amazing food and the genuine warmth they show to their guests.

I chose this restaurant because it was on our way to Marseille airport on our last day and offered online booking. Thus I was able to inform them of my dietary requirements and Madame had really pulled out the stops. The daily lunch menu is reassuringly short, with two choices per course, but I could have had either of the entrees or the mains, since she had made everything wheat-free for that day. My friend had never eaten bull stew before, so I was glad that this one was really well cooked and full of flavour. We were able to sit out in the sunshine (there are half-a-dozen tables) and enjoy the blossom drifting down from the trees, a perfect last meal. (There are two rooms inside, one being set for a large group, so plenty of room if the weather does not permit dining au frais.)

We loved this place. We had one of those experiences you talk about long after you leave. The food was superb and I savored each bite. There was obvious care taken with the ingredients, and it was a pleasure to feel the enthusiasm of all involved and their pleasure in your enjoyment in the meal. All of the staff were a treat - the patron is personable and ebullient, the chef sincere in her interest in your experience and the young woman who was our waitress was exceptional. The ambience was delightful and I look forward to my next visit!
