“not "cuisine fine"”
Reviewed August 28, 2013 via mobile

Just arrived in the area from bourgogne so we know good food and went there on local hotel recommendation.
Food is over priced for what it is (29 euros for 2 courses) and not very nice at all. We were very disappointed and felt very overcharged. Tourist trap.
Do not recommend! Come on guys keep it simple, local and fresh......

Fish and meat were over cooked.

Drinks were good value (cheap wine and water)

“great experience”
Reviewed July 10, 2013

we stayed three nights in this area and we treated ourselves on the last night. Found this one on tripadvisor, and we had a great experience. A warm welcome and very good service. The food was great and if we are ever back in the area we would go again. Definitely highly recommended.

“Disappointing”
Reviewed October 3, 2012

We were very disappointed with this restaurant; the name "Auberge" suggested something good, but the food was, at best, no more than OK. There were four small portions of vegetables served with the main dish, namely carrots, cougettes and two forgetable others and it seems that this combination of vegetables was served irrespective of whether the dish was meat or fish, not exactly fine cuisine to my mind. We subsequently discovered that the menu never changes at all, so given our dissapointment the first time and fact that we would have no further choice should we return - we didn't

“Absolute gem of a restaurant in stunning location!”
Reviewed September 2, 2012

La Petite Auberge has to be one of France's most fantastic restaurants!

The location in the exceptionally picturesque village of Labastide de Virac is exquisite; the service from the very happy and friendly staff is wonderful; but most of all, of course, the food is to die for.

With menus starting at an extremely reasonable €27, rising to only €48, "a la carte" is also available.

The speed of service is perfect, with a prompt request for our aperitifs, and the ordering of the food, followed by a much slower paced meal itself.

Minor complaints would be:
- It was a colder evening than we'd expected so the ladies would have appreciated the offer of a wrap,
- The bar area which we tried to escape to at the end of the meal was more of a service area for the restaurant.
- The digestif cognacs we ordered were way too large!

Overall an experience to be repeated very soon.
