“Exactly what I hoped for”
Reviewed May 6, 2014 via mobile

My husband and I stayed here for 2 nights at the end of April as part of my birthday celebrations. From the moment we checked in we felt at home and the staff could not do enough for us. We were booked in to the Windrush suite - a lovely big room, well decorated, spotless and with a beautiful ensuite bathroom and jacuzzi bath.
In the evening we ate in the restaurant and were absolutely thrilled with our dishes. I had a pork dish - that night's special - and it was phenomenal, really well cooked. Also, we thought the prices and portion sizes were very good, we had no complaints.
The next day we were just slightly underwhelmed by breakfast. The ingredients were excellent and there was a good choice but (possibly because we were the last down) we felt the portion was a bit small. That evening after a day out we got chatting at the bar with the landlord and mentioned it. Next morning, low and behold, the kitchen had been given a note to make sure we had a plentiful breakfast. We felt that he'd really listened and cared to make sure our stay was 100% and we really appreciated the gesture.
All in all, we loved this stay. The Lamb is the perfect mix of pub, hotel and restaurant. The staff and hosts were fabulous, the building wonderful, food great, good value for money.....what more can I say?

This 350 year old pub has gorgeous old stone and low beams, set conveniently among Cotswold villages, but at a more modest price point than many accommodations. Our suite had a king bed with high quality linens, totally updated bathroom with large fluffy towels, and great internet reception. (Just above the pub, where the router must have been sitting.) Dinner was excellent with a good selection of wines. Breakfast was great. Service with a smile. Would return often.

Room Tip: Burford Suite (just above the pub) was quiet, strong internet, lovely new bathroom. Has dormers so w...

Stayed here for a couple of nights recently. Really nice rooms, fabulous breakfasts & good food in restaurant. Pub is not a traditional cosy pub and the atmosphere is not pubby, it has modern décor and the bar doesn't offer a good beer choice. However, the food and restaurant more than make up for everything. Really good attentive staff!! Well done for being Dog Friendly!!!

Many thanks for your kind words and I'm delighted you enjoyed the food and restaurant areas. We understand dogs are part of the family and being dog friendly is something we promote and are pleased to offer.
I'm a little surprised at the limited beer choice comment having three real ales, two ciders, Guinness, two lagers one of which is my Cotswold premium brewed by Richard and Emma who live in our village and a cream flow and a host of bottle beers/ciders in our fridges is usually enough for most guests!
Kind regards

We hired a cottage in the village for the Bank holiday weekend - and so we booked the Lamb Inn for lunch.
Amazing food,and amazing service.
I would strongly recommend this place and would definitely go out of my way to visit again.

We stayed here for 2 nights on the 1st may, everything about the stay was perfect. The food, The room ( room 1), the staff and the atmosphere were all 1st class. We had stayed previously and thought that the recent re-decoration was really nice and in keeping with the ambiance. We will definitely be back.
