“The Perfect Chalet - amazing food!”
Reviewed January 20, 2011

I stayed at White Heights from 26th Dec 2010 - 2nd Jan 2011 with 9 other friends, all on our first trip to Morzine. The chalet is beautiful and even better in real life than the photos show. The hosts Kate and David are fantastic; they couldn’t do enough for us. We were truly at home in the chalet and allowed to do as we pleased and by morning the place would look as good as new for us (despite many empties lying around from the honesty bar!).

Kate is a fantastic chef and cooked us amazing dinners. Even if you don’t ski its worth going just to relax in the chalet (and hot tub) and eat the lovely food. Menus including soufflé, pork belly and chocolate fondant were ‘typical’ and each night was better than the next. The wine was great and plentiful.

David did a great job of getting us started on the slopes and spent a couple of days on the mountains with different members of the group – one day helping beginners down the blue runs and another doing a 90km circuit to Switzerland and back.

All in, the service was fantastic and Kate and David were more than happy to ferry us to and from the lifts/pubs daily. Walking home after a night out can take a while so I’d advise booking a taxi in advance as they can be scarce (although we were there at a particularly busy time). The location is lovely and quiet (no one to overlook you in the outdoor hot tub or complain about noise) with beautiful scenery yet a free bus passes just outside the chalet.

Overall Morzine is a great ski resort with many restaurants, bars and shops and I’d highly recommend it.

Thanks again to the great hosts for an excellent start to 2011!

I organised a trip for 10 friends on a first visit to Morzine and from the first enquiry David & Kate Sewell were fantastic.

We were greeted at Geneva airport in person by David who had organised third party transfers for 2 members of our party and this was all executed seamlessly - apart from one member of our party being delayed in Ireland but David organised him another transfer without fuss.

On arrival at Ferme de Printemps the whole group were literally like "wow" - our table had been set beautifully by Kate (as it was every night), the rooms were beautifully presented and the log fire was quickly lit by David after he had poured us all a Kir Royale! That evening we were each fitted with our ski gear within the comforts of the chalet, again all organised by David and Kate.

The next morning we were driven to the lifts and David organised our ski passes for us. He then showed most of us down our first run and as some of the group went for a lesson he showed off some of the best spots to the rest of the group. David also spent another whole day with more experienced skiers from the group on a huge circuit which they thoroughly enjoyed.

David & Kate would always collect us from the slopes when requested and shuttle us home where some fine baking awaited us - and of course I must mention the food! It was amazing - Kate made such an effort at every meal to present beautiful and tasty food which would not be out of place in fine restaurants. There were too many highlights to mention but our NYE banquet was spectacular. The wine was of good quality and was generously provided by our hosts. Breakfast was also very good and they both were happy to cook eggs or pancakes as you liked.

David and Kate were great hosts who were aware of treating their guests well but equally you could enjoy one or two beers with them in the evening.

The hot tub was a fantastic way to unwind in the evening and their honesty bar was very reasonable meaning you didn't have to venture into town of an evening if you didn't want to. However when we did the majority of the time we were given a lift in or you could walk in approx 15-20mins - the walk back is uphill and after a few drinks is probably more like 45 mins but for the chalet, the views and the alpine experience this was not much of a sacrifice. Additionally a good bus service runs 100m from the chalet straight into town until 7.45pm (great for their night off) and cabs are pretty easy to get and cost 20-25 euro.

Nightlife was good with highlights for us being Dixie's, the Cavern and what was the Buddha Bar (I can't remember the new name, sorry).

On the day of our checkout we were able to leave all our stuff downstairs to take full advantage of the last day on the slopes before David dropped us back to Geneva after a fantastic week. One personal tip from me even as a beginner skier would be to bu the full portes du soleil ski pass to include some great skiing in Avoriaz.

I would highly recommend this to people who appreciate good service, amazing food and luxurious surroundings to fully relax in, as well as everything else I've described! Thanks again David and Kate, hopefully we will see you again soon.

I satyed at Weight Heights from 26th December 2010 - 2nd Jan 2011. The service was top class, David and Kate are fantastic hosts and they could not have done enough to accommodate us. We were met by David at Geneva airport and arrived at the Chalet where Kate had a beautiful meal waiting for us, as she did every evening...I really missed the food when I came home! In the mornings we would be driven to the ski lifts by David and Kate...or if you fancied going out a little later in the day, the free bus service that stops just outside the chalet is very good too! I will definatly be recommending Weight Heights to my friends and plan to return for my next skiing holiday!

Great views from the very comfortable living area.
The food was to a very high standard.... Kate makes a mean pancake!!
As I mentioned above, nothing was too much trouble - David was always happy to run us into town.
Two particular points, the hot-tub and the Playstation were welcome added extras for my children.

We stayed with White Heights from the 2nd Jan for 6 nights, our hosts David and Kate could not have been more helpful. From our collection from Geneva airport where we were met personally by David and dropped off again at 4am the following Saturday (again by David), we could not have asked for better hosts. They even transported us to and from Morzine on their day off.

Kate is a fantastic cook and David did a great job at guiding two nervous skiiers through the slopes of Morzine and Les Gets.
