Stayed for a few days recently following a slightly longer stay in another Reach4theAlps lodge in January. The overall experience was just as enjoyable, with nothing being too much trouble and the facilities being of a very high standard. Can't wait to sample the Summer experience! Thoroughly recommended, unlikely to disappoint even the most discerning ski hound.

Brown Bear is a beautiful chalet, with wonderful hospitality. We left with heavy hearts when we had to go home after having such an amazing time. From the first communication with Marcus to the last goodbye to Sarah and Tim, our wonderful hosts, everything was perfect. Sumptuous, comfy rooms and excellent hosting. We found everyone so friendly, accommodating and warm. They couldn't do enough for you; Sarah even fetching a bag of fresh snow for my poorly knee, which was really nice and caring. Sarah, Tim and Sandy you make a great team. The food was stunning (generous to boot, I never went hungry!) topped off with delicious canapés after a great dip in the hot tub! Didn't want to leave. Thank you so much and I just wish we can come back to enjoy the hospitality again.

Ok so to put things into perspective I have been on around 30 ski holidays and have stayed in an assortment of hotels and chalets all over the world, so I would say I have an average amount of experience for this review...I'm a fairly easy going individual, so like to think I am as realistic as possible when it comes to reviews.

Ok so the Pro's for this Chalet

Great staff
Lovely big, bright, open and airy well laid out chalet ( with a huge 6ft bear living in it..stuffed )
Great evening meal, glass of sparking wine every evening before canapés being served
Wood burning fireplace
Posh washing up shampoo's and toiletries
Very efficient heating and very hot towel rails to dry you clothes
Heated boot dryer
ping pong table
comfy sofas
noise levels are pretty good
Private bus in the morning/evenings to and from mountain
Sauna
Jacuzzi

The Staff:

Very hard working
Freindly
Great cooks
Good fun

The bad:

To far away from Morzine, you need 2 buses to get to the Plenny lift and takes a good 20mins
Buses are supposed to be every 30mins but that's maybe pushing the truth a little..

The most disappointing thing was the morning breakfast, it says cooked but that is cooked in the loosest possible sense, you get 1 ( yes 1) cooked item a day ...so say Monday you might get 1 egg! Tuesday a tiny little pancake, Wednesday a microscopic slice of eggy bread...I have to admit this really ruined my whole experience at the lodge...If you are going out and skiing for the whole day then you need a solid cooked and nourishing breakfast and to receive a tiny little slice of eggy bread was a joke...considering most lunches in Morzine will set you back £15 minimum you want a solid breakfast to take you up to 1pm...to try and achieve this on 1 little egg and some bread is ridiculous and I was hungry by 11am.and losing energy fast..considering I paid around £900 for this Chalet, I would at least like a solid cooked breakfast :) anyway rant over..Reach4theAlps sort this out please!!!

Surly you can't advertise youself for Triathlon training with a breakfast like this!!!

Room Tip: Pick another Chalet that does a real cooked breakfast

Delighted to hear you found Brown Bear Lodge to be fantastic and found the staff to be hard working, great cooks, friendly and good fun and you really enjoyed the canapés and sparkling wine before dinner and lovely evening meals.

Hugely disappointed you found the breakfasts to be inadequate and we are sorry that you didn't bring this up during your stay as we would have been MORE than happy to serve you more !! The daily cooked option is in addition to the continental spread of fresh French baguette, croissants and pain aux chocolats, fresh fruit, yoghurts, cereals and porridge. In a week stay we offer eggs benedict, scrambled eggs with grilled tomatoes, French bread with mushrooms, full English breakfast, homemade pancakes with fruit and boiled egg/s so over the course of the week we hope this offers a good variety and to be honest most people complain of " too much food" having freshly baked cake in the afternoon, pre dinner canapés followed by a 4 course meal every night. BUT we do realise that everyone has different appetites and we would have happily given you more eggs or a different cooked option if we had known you wanted a bigger breakfast and going forward we will make sure we ask all our guests if indeed they would like more of the cooked option on a daily basis. We do hope you make a return trip with Reach4thealps so we can ensure you enjoy the breakfasts as much as the evening meals.

This was our first time in a chalet after previously staying in small hotels. Within a couple of hours of arriving, we knew it was the best decison we made. There were 13 in our party with another 2 that booked the final room and we first met on arrival. The chalet is big and more than enough space for 15 adults to sit and unwind.
Tim, Sarah and Sandy were absolutely fantastic and nothing was to much trouble. The food was outstanding and the best i've had on a ski holiday. All included wine is decent and not cheap rubbish and Sandy keeps on pouring!!!
The hot tub, sauna and table tennis were used everyday. The rooms were cleaned and beds made aswell as clearing up all our rubbish in the lounge from the night before.
The only small negative is it's quite noisy at night. Most lodges are as they are wooden chalets but if people came in late/a few were in the lounge, you could hear in top bedrooms. It may just have been because we were a loud party!!!
The skiing was superb and even though you aren't ski in ski out, Sandy did two morning runs and 2-3 pick ups in the afternoon from 4pm depending on where we all were which was great. The bus is only a couple of minutes walk if you miss the lifts/want a late start.
All in all a fantastic holiday and I would definitely use reach4thealps again. The whole service from enquiry to returning home was exceptional.

Room Tip: Top floor rooms are huge. Probably better to use as triples as the smaller rooms have the beds toget...

Visited the Brown Bear Lodge via Reach for the Alps with a large group of both Ski and Snowboarders also including a baby.
I cannot recommend this lodge enough. The quality of the lodge itself, from the bedrooms and en-suites to the large spacious lounge area and very well thought out boot room everything was spot on. The fascilities included within the chalet made all the difference. The sauna and jacuzzi were well used, the internet was good and having a shuttle service made being slightly away from the bubble lifts not an issue.
The staff that came with the chalet (via reach 4 the alps) were absolutely amazing. Tim, Sarah and Sandy were warm and friendly offering brilliant advice on the pistes to try and local area as well. All of the meals were outstanding. We were a large group with a small baby and a complicated dietry mix but every meal was fabulous and the cake was out of this world.
Definitely worth every penny.

This place is fab in every respect. Well located, well equipped and well staffed I'm sure you couldn't do better.

We were looked after by Tim, Sarah & Sandy who were charming and very attentive. Sarah & Tim can cook a mean meal (Thai Green Curry was AWESOME) and Sandy can pour a great glass of fizz and knows the slopes really well.

This was our first skiing trip with a bunch of friends and we wouldn't change a thing.

By the way Hot Tub and a Roll in the Snow is a must

What a lovely relaxing week we had at Brown Bear Lodge where Tim Sarah and Sandy attended to our every need. Lovely big bedrooms and a lovelly fire in the large living area meant we could chat to our fellow guests in a very relaxed atmosphere.
Dinner was our evening entertainment with lots of wine and lots of chat.
Oh, and the skiing was pretty good too!

Room Tip: Top floor rooms are very spacious
