I had heard about the Corn Maze on Wolfe Island, that is was a local gem where the owners of the farm designed a new maze every year, to give everyone a new challenge. I arrived on a beautiful sunny day. The owner's wife gave me a walkie talking in case I got lost. The maze was beautiful, the corn was high, and I found it was great fun to try to figure out which path to go down, and often found myself at a dead end where there was a sign or a joke. I did use the walkie talking once, when I was near the end and didn't realize it and they gave me great directions on where to turn. There was a covered shelter when you exited the maze with a place to sit down and some cooler with water, soft drinks and a tiny box to leave some money for the minimal costs. After going through the maze the farmer's wife was showing goats to people who had come to visit so I got an impromptu farm experience in addition to the maze fun. It was a great afternoon of fresh air, fun wandering in the corn and being out on a farm with friendly folk and farm animals. I can't wait to go back this summer and bring some friends.
