We were recommended La Maison de Nany by some locataires who were staying at our gite nearby. They raved about it and had wanted to eat there each night of their stay, so we tried it for my birthday in November - there were only two other tables full but the place had a lovely ambiance and we were made very welcome and introduced to Nany. She cooks at the side of the dining room. Despite being off season, there was a good choice of meals, although unusually there were no set menus, all was a la carte. The food was far from run of the mill and very tasty although even savoury dishes were quite sweet (we started with foie gras creme brulée) however the meal was really nice and beautifully cooked. Nany's husband who is front of house overheard a discussion about it being my birthday and presented me with a pudding armed with a candle wishing me all the best.
We really enjoyed our meal at La Maison de Nany and have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone visiting the Joyeuse or Lablachere region
