I stayed here for two nights with my six year old, the rooms were great by Nepali standards and there was hot water, a good fan, and mosquito nets. The food was quite good and we always found several things that we liked from the buffet. We really enjoyed the activities, there were certain things I expected more of like the visit to a tradional village - we literally walked across the street and were shown two houses and some chickens and children were there. I really enjoyed the traditional dance, walking tour, elephant safari, the canoe ride, the elephant bathing, and seeing the elephants at the elephant breeding centre. I have read online that anyone in anyone, at any age can do all of the activities, I am young and did do them all but I feel that the elephant safari might be difficult for an older person or someone with back problems. I sat nearly backwards for two hours and was feeling motion sickness, also the seat is not very comfortable or supportive and my legs were cramping. My son found it fine. The only additional activity if you stay a third night is the jeep safari, so if you don't have a long time in Nepal that may not be worth it to you.

I really had a great time during my stay at the Jungle Safari Resort in Chitwan; my room was very nice, running hot water, ac and a beautiful view! Very friendly staff, good food and well organized jungle activities which were really great!
I really would recommend the Jungle Safari Resort to everyone who's going to Chitwan!

The rooms at Jungle Safari Resort are basic, but perfectly well furnished and clean. The bathroom was fine, although we had some hot water issues (i.e. there was none) on our first night. This is very common in Nepal, but to be honest the *best* places recognise how important consistent hot water is to guests and go the extra mile to ensure it.

The grounds are nicely laid out, very relaxing given you're in the middle of the touristy town of Sauraha. The buffet food is okay - it isn't going to light any fires, but it isn't going to kill you either. Luckily you're only a couple of minutes walk from the middle of town.

The wildlife guides were a little disappointing, but perhaps that is because we are very keen naturalists with lots of experience, so we can spot when they're just taking yet another pair of western tourists on the standard trail around Chitwan to make sure of spotting a bit of wildlife. And we did at least see plenty - rhinos, gharials, crocodiles, wild boar, deer, monkeys. If you're not mad-keen naturalists like us, you'll be perfectly happy with the guides - they certainly aren't slouches.

All in all, Jungle Safari Lodge is probably a decent budget option for a trip to Chitwan. Personally, I don't find Chitwan itself that exciting; lots of tourists stuffed into one small town, all popping over the river for a frantic day or two looking for wildlife and serviced by a bunch of very insipid restaurants. There isn't even much authentic Tharu culture left around here. I've been lucky enough to also visit Bardia National Park. It is much quieter, and much more of an authentic wildlife and Tharu experience - but it is also much further to travel from Kathmandu.

The rooms were excellent and the food was ok.
Location is awful as no scenic view from resort. The nearest spot is approx 10 mins walk in the dusty roads.
Electricity is a problem in Chitwan, while other resorts kept their generator on, we were left in pitch dark rooms. AC connection was not given for even a minute during our 50 hours stay.
Don't be fooled by the beautiful photos in their website as most of them are taken outside their resort.
I'll suggest anybody going to Chitwan to search for hotels on the river side

We had an excellent time at Chitwan national park which largely came down to Jungle Safari Resort. Our guide was great, he was very knowledgeable and we were lucky enough to see a sloth bear carrying it baby, a crocodile, rhino, wild bore, monkeys, and several species of deer. The food was definitely a highlight, with large delicious servings, and the service was great. We highly recommend Jungle Safari.
