Stayed here for two nights whilst visiting Chitwan. Deluxe rooms are good size with hot water & AC. Wifi is patchy in rooms. Good restaurant. Very close to elephant safari, jungle safari & boat ride. You can walk to the stream where you can participate in elephant bath. Very pleasant stay. Will arrange airport pick up & drop off at an extra cost - 1500 Nepal rupees one way.

Great stay!
Spent two nights at the Rhino Lodge and was very impressed.
This is a family establishment so I really appreciated the personalized attention and care. An example of this is when, upon check-in I was told of the resident rhino who often appears on the property. I told the manager to by all means call me since it was my great goal to see as much wildlife as possible during my short stay.
Went out to get a bite to eat (many options up and down the street) and returned to see the manager in front of the property looking for me. Our eyes met and he came over to me, told me about the rhino (grazing outside my window no less!) and hurried me over to the beautiful anima.
I truly appreciate his thoughtfulness in making this episode of my trip a memorable one.
The property is gorgeous and abuts a river where lucky guests can spot amazing animals. Across the river lies the Chitwan preserve, home to spotted deer, rhinos, crocodiles, etc.
Breakfast was perfect – loved my huge plate of delicious fruit salad – a great way to start a day in the wild.
I also appreciated the hot shower and air conditioning - a great way to end a day in the wild!

Room tip: Upstairs room will have a better view

Colonial style accommodation blocks with balconies overlooking a lovely garden. Walk through the garden, across some grass waste land to the river. Turn left about 400m along the bank there’s a wallow hole where we saw a one-horned rhino each morning. Mahouts wash their elephants in the river at midday and onlookers can buy a ticket to join in. Although there’s air con, scheduled power cuts occur during the night and so the hotel provides mosquito nets over the beds. Lighting was unaffected, so we weren’t left in the dark. Our room had a TV, air con and ceiling fan but no coffee-maker or safe. The room was cluttered with too much bulky furniture, making it difficult to freely move around. The spacious shower room was clean and well fitted out but a few other guests were not impressed by their shower rooms, so I guess a refurbishment programme may be ongoing. Electric (220v) multi plug sockets, take UK square pin 13A amongst others. Free wifi is available. The restaurant has limited space and each meal was programmed in 2 shifts according to guest grouping. Buffet meals provided a reasonable choice of enjoyable dishes, but don’t expect a gastro blow-out.

Room tip: Go for top floor

The Rhino Lodge not only has great accomodation, it also has some of the best local guides at Chitwan. Keshav has been guiding at Chitwan for over 30 years. In one morning he was able to show me Tiger Tracks, Leopard Tracks, Jungle Cat Tracks, Sloth Bear Tracks, Rhinoceros, Wild Boar, Spotted Deer, Hog Deer, Barking Deer, Gharial, Mugger Crocodile, and 44 spcies of birds - all in just a 4 hour walk. They can also arrange driving tours of the park, elephant rides, and specialty tours like birdwatching trips and jungle treks. Just tell Keshav which bird and mammal species you want to see. He'll find them for you!

Room tip: Best morning views of hornbills in the tree tops from the third floor rooms.

Two night stay here while on a Mercury tour, friendly staff, good food, handy for Chitwan National Park, Although electricity cuts due to fuel crisis were a problem but not the fault of the hotel, back-up batteries were at hand supplying emergency lighting. Close to village and local bars.
