“Friendliest Staff”
Reviewed October 15, 2012

Lovely hotel with good amenities and the friendliest staff I've encountered in quite a while. We reserved a mountain view room which was worth the extra price because we were able to sleep with the doors open (had a screen door) and listen to the coyote's howl at night!

My son and I went to the Hyatt Tamaya for a two night stay. The setting is majestic, the rooms were beautifully appointed and the service was even better. The resort has all that you can want for a vacation. The pools were beautiful and one of them had a slide that was waterpark quality. You don't have to move, a waiter will bring you food. There was horseback riding, free bikes, a walking trail. There were fire pits and cultural programs around the extensive grounds. My son used the spa and loved it. The restaurants were wonderful and the wait staff was friendly and helpful. The beauty of the property was breathtaking.

We stayed at the Tamaya Resort for 4 days in October 2012. I have nothing but good things to report on this resort. From the front desk staff to the groundskeepers everyone was extremely personable and friendly. We stayed in a standard room with mountain view. The room was nice and the view was amazing. We rode the resorts bikes to the stables and enjoyed meeting the wonderful horses they had there. We didn't have time to do the horseback riding tour but I am sure it would have been wonderful.
The grounds of the resort are beautiful. Take the time to walk the trails and take in the scenery. If I had to think of 1 suggestion it would be to have more benches along the trails so that guest could sit and soak in the wonderful scenery. The few benches that are there are close to the outdoor lounge area and sound travels in open spaces so you can hear the conversations of the lounge guest. Thank you Tamaya for a wonderful stay!

Room Tip: Mountain view rooms are wonderful.

Beautiful, quiet, charming hotel nestled in the countryside on the Santa Ana reservation. Friendliest staff I've ever enjoyed, each one personable and helpful. Fun pool and waterside, free bikes to ride on the exercise trails by the rio grande. Fire pits and s'more making for the kids. Good food at Santa Ana cafe. Coyotes howl at the full moon!

Close to beautiful Jemez mtn trail drive - red rocks, natural hot springs in the woods, fall colors, Jemez falls, Gilman tunnel. Worth making a day of it.

Best stay at a Hyatt yet and we like Hyatt's!

Room Tip: Get one on ground floor by pool if you have kids.

Whether you are visiting New Mexico or just planning a staycation the Tamaya is a must. Located just north of Albuquerque about 20 minutes from Paseo Del Norte / I25. This is where we go when we want to get away with bein far from home. It is so peaceful and quiet. The view of the Sandias is breathe taking from the patios. The pool area is fantastic especially for small children learning to swim. The Tamaya mist spa is a must. So relaxing and well appointed . Plus this is a Hyatt hotel and they cater to families with kids and offer great activities.

It was girls week for me and am so pleased with this choice of resorts. Everyone here was attentive and accommodating to our requests. Room was perfect with a great view of Sandia Mountains. The Rosemary and Cucumber Gin and Tonics were fabulous -- from the pool bar. The hikes on the property were through quiet woods and provided a nice flavor of the area including the Rio Grande. Sat by the wood fire on the patio and enjoy the conversations with fellow guests. Only problem found is the lack of Wi-Fi at the pools and in the room. Wi-Fi is available at the general store in the lobby with limits of one hour usage. Enjoyed participating in the Indian beading activity. So much to do in the area -- went to the Chili Fest in Los Lunas, Salsa Festival and the State Fair in Alburqueque ,hiked the Cliff Dwellings in Bandolier National Monument, and viewed the crafts in the Town Square in Santa Fe. The concierge desk provided information and directions to all! Also --- stop in town and have breakfast at the Range -- on Route 66.

Located on very large, natural property adjoining the Rio Grande River, this hotel is convenient to Santa Fe and Albuquerque. Horse back riding, golf, hiking and world class spa all on property - no reason to leave! Spa treatment - spirit path is highly recommended - includes aromatherapy massage, scrub, wrap and hot oil scalp massage .... wow. Rooms on mountain side have much better signal for cell phones if work is required, golf course rooms have spotty coverage. Hotel restaurants are great - Corn Maiden for fine dining, Santa Ana Cafe for quick bites, and even hotel coffee/gift shop for early morning breakfast burrito to take away for hiking/day trip.
Beautifully decorated and maintained, the outdoor pools include a quiet area, herb garden and hot tubs for star watching.
Can't go wrong with this hotel.

Room Tip: Choose mountain side for better cell service
