Four of us went to Thurst on a Saturday night and it was really buzzing. Nice simple menu with 5 starters, 5 mains and 5 desserts to choose from. Which in my mind means it is freshly cooked and well presented. Both of those statements l found to be true.
There is outside seating for pre-drinks, nice cosy tables and even a long table for larger family gatherings or celebrations. Staff were very helpful, friendly with big smiles. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals and l am looking forward to going back again.

Had a great night at T'hurst on Saturday night. We enjoyed sitting in the beautiful garden, sipping on a G+T, enjoying a fantastic local band, and who doesn't love a summer bbq! There was a real buzz and was great to watch people enjoying themselves on the dance floor! I know that since the new owner took over there's been a few problems with changes of chef - something that really can't be helped - but thankfully it looks like they've come out the other side and I expect T'hurst to be a real success!

I have been looking forward to visiting Thurst Bistro since the change of ownership and was not disappointed. The new menu is fantastic with lunchtime and supper menu available and a wonderful selection of wines from South Down Cellars. We were greeted by Zoe who showed us to our table and provided excellent service with the food served on time and presented beautifully. The restaurant also has a wonderful garden space with benches, enough room for families and is a child friendly environment. There is also a band playing next Saturday and Mexican food being served for the fair day which I will certainly attend. It is unfair that people are giving bad reviews for this great little venue especially with all the sport going on which is maybe why they haven't been busy? Good luck to you all and see you next Saturday!

This was our first visit since T'Hurst changed ownership and Oh dear! how very disappointing. We looked on line before we went to see what was on the menu, but when we arrived we were given a totally different menu with very little choice. When the waitress asked us if we were enjoying our meal we said it was very mediocre which was kind of us considering our cold meat was passed it's best and badly cut it one case and straight out of a packet in the other, the asparagus was 3 minute stems with a bit of parma ham wrapped round it. The steak was cooked well but served with far too many bland slightly raw potatoes some tomatoes and a tiny bit of lettuce. Our waitress said she would pass on our comments but later when the Chef/owner emerged from the kitchen she did not talk to us as she was in too much of a rush to get a drink at the bar. There were a total of 6 people in the restaurant while we were there ( including us) so heaven help them if they are ever busy... but on second thoughts unlikely.
I have never written such a bad review for a restaurant before but i feel strongly that you should not charge people money for things that are not fit to eat and you should take pride in serving good food.

I was looking forward to coming to the restaurant for dinner as I had been several times last summer, I was very disappointed! Upon arrival we were greeted by the waitress and were told
"sit where you like and the kitchen closes in fifteen minuets so can you order quickly"
that's all fine if we had been taken to our table and told, not standing half way in the door, At one point the chef walked from the kitchen to the bar without acknowledging anyone, there's clearly a lack of good training and customer service!
I think the owner should rethink the identity of the place, it was like a pub at the front and a cafe at the back, definitely not a "bistro" if you want bistro go to the other end of the village!
The menu is basic and when we got our food it wasn't cooked , crunchy rice! Not nice! If your going to do basic food at least make it good basic food!
It's a shame as I think it's a great venue with a nice little garden area! This place should be a GOOD pizza/pasta restaurant
