We spent Sunday hiking on Mont Saleve. It's easy to get to from the centre of Geneva. Take the no 8 bus and cross the border on foot into France to catch the cablecar to the top. There are restaurants (including one in a Buddhist temple) at the top and lots of places to enjoy a picnic. Wonderful views of Geneva and Mont Blanc and we watched hang gliders taking off too.
