Although it’s only a 1km hike to the beach, it’s so worth it! The sand is amazing with a backdrop of beautiful rocks with seals laying about. Truly a Microsoft screensaver sight.

We absolutely loved it. We were warned about the winds being really strong but it was a glorious sunny day. The scenery was beautiful and changed along the way - absolutely recommend that you visit

So beautiful! It is a 20 minute walk from the car park, through farmland to get to Wharariki Beach and so worth it! From wandering through the paddocks past mildly curious sheep and lambs, to the view when you arrive and topped off by baby seals in the rock pools. Stunning part of the world!

Beautiful sandy and hidden beach that is well worth the short but very pleasant walk to get to. Peak time yet so quiet. Could happily spend all day here taking in the view and listening to the waves. A highlight of our trip to New Zealand was coming here. Parking fairly limited so come early if visiting peak period.
