My wife and I stayed nine days at La Ferme du Chozal, together with my wife's 93-year-old mother, who had stayed there with a friend the summer before, and wanted to return. The three of us occupied two rooms on the same hallway; my mother-in-law getting the (only?) room in the hotel with a walk-in shower rather than a bathtub shower, as she had requested. I can't say enough about how terrific our stay was in every respect. The hosts, Frederic and Anne-Christine, were very welcoming and thoroughly professional in every way. The property is great, with large comfortable rooms and nice public areas, in a stunning mountain setting. Regarding the comfort of the rooms -- so much detail seems to have been well thought out and provided for; the walls are thick, the towels large and plush (and warmed by a towel warmer in the bathroom), the bed extremely comfortable, and with high quality bed linens; the curtains did a great job of keeping light out; the wifi worked splendidly -- simply no complaints. Outdoors was a very nice pool and jacuzzi, nice for relaxing and looking out across the valley at the nearby mountains, and Mont Blanc in the distance. We were on a plan which gave us breakfast and dinner each day, and our dinners were very much a highlight of each day. We took the set meals, rather than ordering from the menu, and every night for nine nights the meals were absolutely splendid--creative eclectic offerings always well prepared, delicious, and ... fun, from amuse-bouche to appetizer course (often including edible flowers and very fresh herbs from the property) to main course, cheese course, and dessert. The wine list, featuring wineries from throughout the Alpine region, France to Croatia, is extensive and offers a good range of varieties, and an even better range of prices- one can drink very well here for very little money. Frederic is very knowledgeable about the available wines and therefore a reliable source of recommendations. Service, at meals, and elsewhere in the hotel, was always top notch, friendly and very professional. Cannelle the friendly house mastiff, usually to be found basking in the sun when we took breakfasts out on the terrace, loved being petted. Our experience here was outstanding in every respect.

Mégève has a few good restaurants, like the Flocon de Sel - and many expensive ones of no interest whatsoever. In the broader Savoie region, there are many tables serving decent local fare, quite a few serving "direct from Métro, I just microwaved this for you" industrial rubish, and a few really good places. This is one of them. The decor is regional but 'cleaned up' and modernised. Guests are requested to leave their ski boots at the entrance (you can ski to the door of the restaurant from the wonderful ski area of "les Diamants")and given hotel slippers in exchange. Service is young, friendly and multi-lingual. The menu is full of tantalising dishes; usually local dishes or local ingredients, but nicely revisited for the 21st century city dweller. The work in the kitchen is exceptional, everything is finely crafted, well cooked, and deliciously original. Presentations are modern, clean and fresh. The 39 Euro menu is a steal for this level of execution! The wine list is intelligently constructed, with many good growers and quite a few exceptional ones, at all prices. I did not see the hotel rooms, but given the quality of the restaurant and public spaces, would fully expect them to be very comfortable, and a cut above the rest in the area. This is a good discovery, and the chef will go far. Try it.

This wonderful renovated mountain farm has not only the most confortable rooms beautifully decorated, but also the greatest chef of the area! You'll be surprised by the elegant and tasty dishes, full of inventiveness, but if you are more keen in typical dishes they are available.
The wines are special too.Breakfast in the morning will be a surprise with homemade jams and juices, fresh pain au chocolat and bread, ham and speck, eggs and anything you want to drink included a real Italian espresso! The service is impeccable ,the owners very kind and helpful in giving advices and the slopes are right out of your door! For lunch a great place to stop.

We stayed here in July 2011 for one night on a trip down the route des Alpes. Would have happily stayed for more - but they were full. The room we stayed in was a triple (double bed and bed for a child in the corner). It was small, but very cosy and welcoming with a very comfortable matress. The bathroom was modern even if a bit small. We had dinner and the food was really excellent. The hotel also provides free Wifi. Overall, I would say that of all the hotels we stayed in on the route des Alpes, this was the best by a long way, with good beds, comfortable rooms, excellent food and fantastic views (plus it is very quiet).

Thls small hotel nestles on the hills overlooking Hauteluce, outdoor heated pool , sauna and even wifi. The owners want your stay to be exquisite and go out of their way to make sure of your welcome and nothing is too much for them. Food is beautifully presented and delicious. The stay was memorable and definitely want to return in the winter with piste next door. Can not recommend highly enough
