Stayed here 5- 12th March, was absolutely brilliant staff were very helpful friendly nothing was too much trouble, location is great 5 mins from the gondola, facilities were grwat pool spa games room the lot, price was spot on really cant recommend it highly enough. Joe b wales
We were a group of 7 staying in Chalet Sapiniere. Josh and Tori were fantastic hosts - the food every night was delicious (couldn't decide on which was our favourite!) and they were extremely friendly. My room was comfortable and light (often I find ski chalets quite dark!) and it was a luxury to be able to get in the pool, sauna and jacuzzi at the end of the day.
The village had a lovely feel about it and a perfect apres ski bar (including late night disco for the party animals!) The bubble lift is very quiet - we never had to queue. We were able to leave our skis and boots at the rental shop by the lift - this was a great help - and the walk up to the shop was a good warm up for the day! It's great to have the flexibility of being able to walk to the slopes rather than rely on transport.
Overall, we had a perfect week - thoroughly recommend it to anyone!
Such a great week staying at Sapiniere! The chalet was lovely and cosy and had plenty of space - lots of nice additions like underfloor heating in the living room and use of a washing machine and dryer which was very handy. The spa is great for unwinding after a day of skiing.
The location is good, the little village has some really nice bars and cafes to enjoy in the afternoons and evenings. There is a bit of an uphill walk to get to the gondola but it's not very far and it's a good warm up!
The food was really amazing - hearty DELICIOUS three course dinners every night along with plenty of wine. Breakfast was always great (and lots of variation so you can't get bored) and there was tea and cakes waiting for us every day when we got in from skiing.
Overall had a fab week, would definitely recommend.
Few down sides. Few pluses. Negatives ; best start with most annoying. Wen taking drinks other than wine with dinner, so cans pop, bottles of prosecco or crates of beer you are asked to pay at that very moment! That may be mid meal , but they still expect you to pay. Would be better to have honesty bar & pay each morning for night before or at end of trip. Wen relaxing don't wish to have to go find money.
No facility to play music in the chalet.
Pool was freezing cold, so under utilised.
Photos are deceptive. One of the downstairs bedrooms has a shower right in the middle of it, not exactly ensuite and no toilet. It backs onto the kitchen so woken early by staff coming in.
It's an uphill struggle to the lift everyday, no transport provided. Best to leave skis in hire shop or rent a locker.
Breakfast although tasty there was not enough for 14 running out of bacon, eggs on a couple of days etc
Now for pluses. The evening meals were lovely. Standards and portions great.
Good location for entry to paradiski area. Nice little village with couple of good bars.
Price of break was very competitive.
Chalet Sapiniere is part of a small group of associated chalets which can be combined to provide extra accommodation if needed, as we did. Our group of 13 couldn't fit Sapiniere with sleeping arrangements but by also taking Flocon we were very comfortable and all fitted round the table for our meals.
To access the skiing you have a 'warm up the muscles' walk to the gondola, picking up your hire skis, on the way, at the rental shop where you store boots and skis each day. Your lift passes are organised and waiting for you on arrival and all we had to do was add the extra insurance for slope emergencies.
The food was tremendous; from hearty breakfasts to cake and tea for your return from the slopes to the superb evening meals, including very tasty alternatives for our 'veggie'. We were asked to vote for our favourite dishes at the end of our trip and the votes were fairly evenly spread!
The wood burning fire in the seating area gave a cheery glow to add to the underfloor heating so toes warmed up nicely while having preprandial drinkies.
Bedrooms are comfortable and having a tumble dryer and washing machine available is a useful addition.
Sauna, hottub and pool were used by some of our party and Steve tells me the 'bracing' temperature of the pool has been resolved but was great for after ski wind downs.
Finally the staff. We had a warm welcome and introductions to all the 'saisoner/res'. Josh is runnning the show this year and nothing was too much trouble. The chefs, Torrie and KiKI produced the wonderful meals and cakes including my birthday cake! Bravo.
This was our second visit to the complex and is not the last!
For our first family ski trip this was an amazing experience. From the initial meet and greet, we were made to feel very welcome and able to sort out ski passes then get our skis, boots etc.We were so well looked after for the whole week, considering we were a large group of 14. The food was really amazing 3/4 course meal-tasty and wholesome-just what is needed when coming off the slopes.also catered for the little kids-nothing was too much trouble.Plenty of wine and bread to go with it too! Chalet was very comfortable with plenty of beds and bathrooms and seating area. The swimming pool and games room was an added bonus-and great to relax in after a day on the slopes. The kids loved it-pool a bit cold and showers were far too cold to use (only gripe!). Kiki and Brad were lovely chalet hosts-Thank you in making our first ski trip a holiday to remember! We would love to return again in the future!
