We had prebooked a table for saturday night just after Christmas. On arrival the pub had a lovely festive feel about it and the table we were placed at was in front of a roaring open fire - very cosy.
When everyone finally decided what they wanted to eat we did not have to wait very long at all for baked Camembert with crusty bread for starters - everyone tucked in and it made it very sociable to share.

Not long after, the scorching hot plates with the main courses were brought out, We had (huge) Fish and Chips, Salmon, Steak, Chicken in a fruity sauce and Pork - every recipient of each of these dishes was commenting on how delicious they were. Really nice home cooked , very generous portions, very polite and obliging staff, the prices were also fair for the quality of the food - all in all a very enjoyable evening and highly recommended!

This is a proper old fashioned English pub with excellent home cooked food at value prices. We went there as a party of 14 on a business Christmas dinner and I can only say Rose did us proud. We had to look twice at the bill and still thought it was too cheap for the quality and quantity of what we had eaten. If I said we drive 45 mins out of our way to eat here, you will understand why its worth it .

The New Inn is an amazing place, wonderful roaring fire, unspoilt, traditional English Pub. Good honest food, prob not all freshly cooked ie microwaved, but well presented, great value and they sell Dunkertons Cider so it's probably one of the finest pubs you'll find.

“The British Inn” has a certain reputation and the New Inn has it all. Not to formal, hospitable and good food in the sense that signs for “Good Food” mean good food to be. Just sit down, order one of the traditional dishes and enjoy being there while eating. An inn is not a restaurant but a place to be and enjoy the fine things a “British Inn” can offer you: The new Inn has it all.

Stopped with friends for lunch recently. Nice bar menu with excellent choice. All dishes selected were very pleasant coupled with a good selection of drinks. Will place this on my list of places to stop on future travels in area.
