Comparable to Chiang Rai Saturday Night Walk Street. CM: More like the Night Bizarre in CR, with mostly handicrafts "for show". CR: More functional things, used clothes, shoes & things appealing to locals. CM: More tourists. CR: More locals. CM: Food a little more expensive, but still cheap. CR: Food street is more concentrated. CM: Food is spread out in more places, including the courtyards of local temples. Both CM & CR: Can get very crowded, slow walking.

I was very wary about the Sunday market after constantly hearing how crowded it was, however we had a great time! We got there at 5 so it wasn't annoyingly crowded for the first hour or so, after that the mass of people does get a bit much but just for a few hours we found it fine. The majority of the food is in side areas and it's DELICIOUS! It's fun looking around the homemade stuff and everything else, of course it gets monotonous after a while but we spent almost 3 hours there before we'd had enough. Don't be scared off, just go with a relaxed attitude and make the most of it :)

Very cool market. 100’s of different stalls and food carts. Gets extremely painful trying to walk through the street as the night goes on because of the thousands of people walking at snail speed but would recommend it if you’re in the area! Don’t forget to barter down the vendors! 🙌

An eye-opener at Sunday Walking Street! So much variety of food, and ALL of the 100+ food  stalls are busy. Amazing culinary creativity!

Seamless creativity in varied crafts, fashion accessories and bags with dangerously tempting low prices.
Love this market because most things are handmade and reasonably cheap, and the artists are usually seen doing their crafts at their own stalls.

This market beats Chatuchak in terms of variety, maybe even quality although it doesn't sell the more bulky items like in Chatuchak. It beats the one in Luang Prabang (which is a very long street too) in terms of size and crowd. The Chiangmai Sunday Walking Street (1.1km) is a shopping heaven. It's no wonder why the Chinese love shopping here! The Chinese freely pay with their WeChat app!

The crowd is crazy here but it's a no smoking zone and no one does. Drinking on the streets is also not allowed. One of the busking artist said this as his team was setting up, "I smell something. Whoever is smoking, please stop now. It is not good" 😊
