A half hour or so outside of down town Auckland, this restaurant is quite delightful. In an olive grove (unfortunately it was evening and a cold one at that so we sat inside) beautifully appointed. In Europe this would be a Michelin starred restaurant.
The food was exciting with great mixes of colours and tastes and beautifully cooked and presented. Staff all friendly (who isn't in New Zealand?). Offering a variety of menus with something for everybody. A real discovery for us and we hade a great relaxed evneing. Great value for money. When next in NZ we will beat a track there at least once.

Called in here on the way back to Auckland late one weekend afternoon and they very kindly fed us cheese and olives (estate grown) as the kitchen had closed. A beautiful room with lovely wrap around balconies overlooking the olive groves. The service was as crisp as the linen table cloths and the food looked amazing on the tables around us. Will definitely head back for a sunset dinner on the balcony or a weekend brunch.
PS - for those that consider this expensive the 5 course degustation is $85 and alacarte the starters $22 and mains $39. For this quality I think fair pricing.

Celebrated friends birthday with a six course degustation menu in the country hills of Auckland. A bit of a drive, so thankfully someone else was driving. Perfect day, accommodating staff & views on the balcony, wines superb yet servings were all too small. Loved the warmed olives & hand creme in the bathroom and shop to buy. Perfect for romantics & lovers of find food & wine.

This is an upmarket restaurant out of the City. The menu is lovely albeit quite expensive.
A good venue for an extra special occasion.

We have just returned from a trip to the United States and wanted to catch up with a very special friend so chose Bracu.
The location was wonderful and the service attentive without being too intrusive. We were welcomed with a small complimentray entree and bread. The food was perfectly presented and looked stunning.
My husband and I ordered the Roasted Crown of local duck for two people at $37 per person. Prior to the food being served a waitress approached our table with a beautifully presented roast crown of duck. She didn't actually come close enough for us to see the duck up close but it certianly appeared to be a good sized crown of duck. She said she was taking it to the chef for carving.
This display caused much admiration from other diners in the restaurant.
Imagine our suprise when the plates were duly returned and both contained 2 average sized slices of roast duck. The duck was superbly cooked however $74.00 for 4 slices of duck breast and some fancy trimmings was outrageously expensive.
We asked a very personable and polite waiter what happened with the rest of the meat from the crown and he came back from the kitchen with the message, it was only sinew which they can't serve.
Having just spent 3 weeks in states eating at some very nice restaurants, we found this experiance extremely dissapointing which is such a shame as everything else relating to our visit was perfect.
I had intended to buy some of the fabulous olive oil products when we left but no longer felt inclinded as I felt the cost of our meals was not justified.
