While touring along the Loire Valley, I had the chance to experience the warm hospitality of the Beauregard's proprietors. Their manor house overlooks the river and it is quite scenic. The rooms are very comfortable in the style of days gone by. I especially enjoyed the full breakfast by the fireplace and the friendly and informative conversation afterwards. There was also a wonderful tapestry hanging on the wall opposite the fireplace which added to the atmosphere of a time long ago. I would highly recommend a stay at the Beauregard be it for one night or even longer because there is so much to discover and enjoy in this region which Fanny and Francois are most willing to share with you. We stayed in Fanny and Francois' beautiful manor house outside the medieval city of Saumur for three days. We had two cozy and comfortable rooms with a shared bath in a private wing of the house and a grand view of the Loire River. Fanny baked bread each day to serve with her generous European style breakfast. Their home is like a small castle and they are full of great ideas for restaurants, markets, chateaus, biking and other daily activities. And, don't forget to ask Francois to show you the 10th century caves!
