Great photo spot! I felt the viewpoint was worth the drive, but be prepared for lots of switchbacks, blind corners and finding places to back up / pull over.

A fantastic view accessible by car with enough parking. Great lookout with a magnificent panoramic view. Getting up and down was scary. Be prepared to drive backwards. The road is very narrow for a car yet there are tour buses on the road. You will have to back up to a somewhat wider place to let the bus through.

We actually did this drive twice - once up and back in the late afternoon and again taking the full scenic route over the mountains. It is full of hairpin turns and the road is often little more than one lane wide. But if you or your traveling companions are confident drivers, it is a great experience. (But if the weather is lousy, don't bother! you won't see enough to make it worthwhile)

As others have said, this is a must do. It is very scary to drive up to the view point. It is a single lane road (IMHO) with two lanes using it. We were on a tour bus and many cars had to back up to let us pass. This is good info if you are driving yourself up there. Once there, the view is spectacular. You will not be disappointed. Of course, I would venture just driving through Norway has not been a disappointment for you either.

One of the more impressive views I have seen in my life. Stay up high and contemplate how small you are. Whatever you do in Norway, if you can come here make it happen. You will want to come back and cherish the moments longer than you expected. This place won't leave you.
