If you are looking for peace and quiet, this is the place!

The accommodation is rustic but adequate. There is no air conditioning, just natural wind and fans for cooling if it gets too hot! Meals were simple homecooked indonesian style food and they usually serve more than we can finish. There are water activities but I did not get to make use of them except for snorkeling just off the beach (ask the staff for the best location), which was decent. You can also request the staff to arrange for massage during your stay. Staff was friendly and I have to thank Anton for taking good care of us when we were there.

If you are there for a celebration, I highly recommend that you request a fireworks package to complete the celebration.

Overall, a relaxing experience and a short getaway from the busy city life! Best to do at least 3 nights to fully relax and enjoy because it takes about 4 hours one-way from Singapore (that's the only negative!)

Room tip: Java palaces are more private and have own beach entry

Dear Supperdoggy,

Thank you for your generous and detailed review. We are glad that you enjoyed the natural wind rather than air-con as much as most of our guests did. Our Chef has worked with us for more than 15 years (more than 10 years in Pangkil , our Sister island) and we pride ourselves in providing Indonesian food which is cooked in rich spices as we think it will give the "Island-feel" when you are staying with us. We look forward to welcoming you back some day. thanks again for taking the time to review us.

pulau joyo is amazing and wonderful. We had a very smooth journey to pulau joyo which I wasn't really looking forward to. We were greeted by so many people which was nice, everyone is so friendly. The beach huts are amazing, you are obviously on an island so if you don't like bugs do not come here. I do not particularly like them but I didn't let it bother me. Love the fact that suddenly 4 foot lizards are just walking around - that did scare me to begin with!. and the last thing i did in pulau joyo was fishing with my dad. we got big fish and we made sushi with it. the taste was amazing.

Dear Alex L,

Thank you for delightful review. we are glad to hear that you enjoyed everything about Pulau Joyo. We are aware of the increasing amount of bugs on the island as the rainy season is kicking in but please be assured that we are taking this matter seriously and put a lot of effort in our control program. Lastly, Our sea is full of fishes and we will recommend February (After Moonsoon) for another thrilling fishing trip. Thanks again for taking your time to post this review.

Best Regards,

Anton Sutrisno

We stayed at Pulau Joyo for 3 days/2 nights in december, with a group of 37 friends.
The island is amazing. The pool is centered with the bar and eating areas around it. Perfect to create a nice bonding experience. They also offer snorkeling, stand-up paddle, fishing, and other water activities.
The staff is incredible - from the reception to the very last wave goodbye.
The food is also amazing, and they cater for all needs (we had vegetarians and gluten-free eaters).

I definitely recommend Pulau Joyo for a nice and relaxing getaway.

Room tip: All the rooms were nice, but my favorite one was the Beach Palace (also called beach house). It stands high so has a nice view, and inside has a great decoration (other rooms also have a nice decoration).

Second visit and again superb! Service was wonderful and yet casual and friendly also.
Meals were served in a different location (even one dinner on the beach with a bonfire). Paddled boarded and don't miss a massage (or 2 in our case..). Brilliant.

A magical island with only eight houses and wonderful staff who ensure your stay is perfect. We will definitely be returning to this paradise. The vegetation and bird life are beautiful and each location presents another idyllic view. We always dined in a different place on the island and there many water sports to chose from if you felt like being active. Having stayed in many resorts in Asia during the past forty years, Pulau Joyo rates in our family as the very best! Thank you to the marvellous team on Pulau Joyo and to the creator of this magical place.

Room tip: All the rooms are beautiful and we would happily stay in them but we particularly liked the two Java Palaces which are located on the water's edge and have their own private beach. It was wonderful to wake at dawn and watch the sun rise over the sea from your own beach.
