We stopped here as we were passing through, for a cream tea it was Delicious the scones appeared homemade and still warm.

Dog friendly we sat outside as no signs say whether we could go inside or not but there is a marquee to sit in.

There is a small little play area in the garden which needs improvement as it is all cracked and broken.

Overall a nice friendly stop on our long journey.

After visiting the castle and mill we were really hungry so popped into the carew inn. We weren't disappointed...absolutely delicious food and great value. My partner had the curry which came with pomadom and naan bread (plus option of rice or chips, or both ) I had the pie, veg and chips. We both said that the chips were literally some of the best we've had. Highly recommend!

We arrived at the Inn during a thunderstorm and were told that dogs were welcome. We chose to eat in the bar for because of the dog and can understand a previous comment about it being a little claustrophobic when full but we (myself, wife and two friends) found it ok. We were also told that the kitchen was busy and there would be a 45 minute wait. Nice to be forewarned and, as the beer was good, we decided to wait. There was a steak night on with free glass of wine and so we all ordered this. 25 minutes later four large steaks arrived. We were very impressed with Welsh time!! Dinner and puds were excelend ant the staff couldn't have been more pleasant and helpful.

My husband and I had Sunday lunch here today along with our grand daughter. The food was not good at all. Boring vegetables, no imagination and they were just warm. Only 5 boiled potatoes between three of us. When the plate arrived it looked disgusting the beef was absolutely drowned in gravy, roast potato not cooked properly and a massive Yorkshire pudding which was equally disgusting. We felt very rushed and obviously they are more interested in the number of customers and not the quality of the food. Having said that being rushed was good for us as we were very glad to get out of there. Obviously we shall not visit again.

A lovely Inn, superbly run with a great atmosphere. If cooking had been better it would have got 5 stars. We had three 10oz rump steaks and a 8oz sirlion steak. The steaks were cut very thin, were probably pan fried, and were dry and tasteless. Everything else about the meal was excellent.
We liked the place and the staff very much and we will go back. I hope they consider changing the supply and cooking of the steaks.
