We did the route 66 tour and there are many places to stop at along the way. This stands out as it really feels like it has never changed and has not been recently created. You have the usual souveniers which are well priced and also drinks and snacks. Out side the store there are a range of older cars and a small area with an old unused garage/workshop.
It is on a section with few typical route 66 stops and I would highly recommend you stop here for 15 to 30 minutes.
Take photos and look around at all the great stuff that they are accumulating. Awesome almost museum like place
Our family enjoyed the photo op and merchandise of the Hackberry General Store. Great side trip off the hwy on the old Hwy 66 between Las Vegas and Grand Canyon.
Thank you for your kind review! I hope your children enjoyed a blast from the past!
My husband and I were traveling Route 66 in October 2015 (won't let me date it that far back) and loved seeing all the interesting things on the way. There is not a ton to see between Seligman and Kingman, so this was a nice place for a break. This is an authentic-looking little place on the outside with tons of things to walk around and look at. Make sure you peek around the back. They have lots of neat things hidden back here as well. The owner was super friendly and took the time to chat with us about the place for a little bit. The inside has lots of Route 66 souvenirs for purchase. We picked up a couple of decent shirts for a fair price. Love that they keep this open out here in the middle of nowhere for everyone to enjoy some nostalgia of a time gone by. We would recommend stopping for sure!
We weren't expecting much here but we ended staying at least an hour. The little gift shop is full of souvenirs and memorabilia. It was great looking through all the number plates and bits and pieces. The building itself is also covered with vintage signs and the resident cat keeps popping up. Out the back are a handful of classic cars left crumbling in the weather. My husband and son loved checking them out. This is just what we wanted to see, travelling along Route 66!!
Just a fun stop on the Route 66 leg from Kingman to Seligman. This leg of Route 66 is in good driving condition, so it is definitely worth jumping of I-40. Lots of memorabilia, color and photo ops!
