Pros: Breakfast was good, with a lot of variety. The hotel features a beautiful view of the ocean, and the appearance of the hotel was beautiful. Some staff were very friendly, including the night-shift bartender and Dimitri, the bus driver. Free shuttle to town. Very nice pool. Good check-in and check-out process. Quiet location.

Cons: We did struggle with a few things in this hotel. Most of the staff acted somewhat reluctant to help us solve problems we encountered (e.g., poor internet connection, mosquitoes, getting in touch with our travel agency); they seem to prefer that customers solve their own issues before staff step in. As previously mentioned, internet is very limited in this hotel. We did not have any internet connectivity in our room; there does not appear to be internet connectivity anywhere other than the reception area. Unfortunately, internet was quite spotty in the reception area as well. They also do have a pretty serious issue with mosquitoes; there's a particularly nasty breed of mosquitoes on Mykonos, and we did not feel that the hotel did enough to address this issue (to their credit, they did give us a Raid Plug-In device, but we prefer that more steps be taken to control the insect issue in the hotel). Also, although it is great that the hotel offers a free shuttle to town, we did struggle with the remote location of the hotel, as well as the fact that hotel's shuttles to Mykonos Town only run about every two hours; we felt that this somewhat restricted our ability to travel freely throughout the day. I would also add that this hotel, while very serene and quiet, may not be appropriate for people in their 20's. As two women in our late 20's, we did not feel that we really "fit in" to the hotel's overall atmosphere.

San Marco was an idyllic and beautiful hotel that really was as fantastic as it seemed to be in all the pictures online. We had a stunning junior suite with a elevated view over the hotel and out into the Aagean. The pool area was fantastic and had a real premium feel about it. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was lovely. As the other reviews note, the hotel is set well out of town in a rural setting but the courtesy bus was regular and convenient and a taxi into town just €7. All in all, a lovely, quiet, relaxing break in the sun.

Rooms were super. Spacious and very clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. Mykonos was a beautiful island, and this hotel is about 8 minutes from the town center by shuttle. Our only complaint--wish there were more frequent shuttles to the main Mykonos town...more than one driver would help.

It's 30 odd years since I last visited Mykonos, in my island hopping days it was always too expensive and now it's on the cruise ship agenda (along with Santorini) it's incredibly busy even this early in the season. The new Chinese middle class are on the move too and there are a lot of them. One evening we visited the windmills to watch the sunset and it was really as if we were in an obscure part of Hong Kong harbour.
Even so, San Marco offered us the peace and quiet we'd been hoping for. Situated on the quieter west coast but only 4 miles from the airport (don't worry we weren't disturbed by flight noise) and a couple from Mykonos town itself (7 Euros one way from town to the hotel) the hotel is built in the classic Cycladian style, white cubes, blue shutters etc. and stands in pretty and well kept grounds. We were upgraded to a Junior Suite with a very nice side view of the sea and looking directly out onto a sparse Mykonian hillside on which grazed s few horses and some very noisy donkeys that now and then surprised us all with air raid siren level he-hawing.
The room was comfortable and spacious with air-con.and satellite tv (which we never bothered watching) good bathroom and great shower. The only downside is that the rooms seem to be separated by very thin walls through which you can hear your neighbours talking, snoring or....well you get the picture. We had a very noisy Chinese couple staying for a few days who enjoyed shouting over each other at the top of their voices, which was annoying.
The staff were amazingly nice, friendly, welcoming and helpful and with some great recommendations:
'Kikkis 'at Agios Sostis is a must visit, a delightful bijou taverna overlooking a pretty little bay and with a large bay next door. Try the local salad, delicious.
'Nikos' on Mykonos beach is about as anthentically Greek as you can get, especially on Thursday evenings when a local folk group play lively Greek music that everyone claps and stamps along to.
There's a rather optimistically titled 'pebble' beach directly in front of the hotel by the main road, but it's really more of a 'boulder' beach and I can't imagine spending anytime on it when you have the hotel's pretty salt water pool. (Although we never had a problem getting a sunbed and umbrella at whatever time of day we went, it isn't huge and I would imagine could be crowded in the high season.) Also you can walk around the peninsular to Agios Stefanos which is a nice little beach with two tavernas and beds/shades. (The second from the car park direction is the best, reasonably priced and with a very nice lady owner.)
There's a pleasant hotel pool bar (beer 4 euros, cocktails up to 12) next to which is the restaurant where breakfast (very good, plenty to chose from) and dinner (food was enthusiastic but sometimes a bit stodgy) is served. The second thing I didn't really like about San Marco was the wine is ludicrously expensive. We bought a bottle of wine from a supermarket for 6 Euros that the hotel charged 37 for. I know wine is marked up, but that is ridiculous. And the house wine tasted like petrol, whereas house wine in both the tavernas I talked about earlier were good and 6 euros a half litre. And it's for that reason alone that I only give San Marco four points, if I could I'd give it four and a half.
There's free wifi in the reception area, a scruffy tennis court with plants growing through the surface, a limited gym and a spa that I don't think was open yet. But overall a very pleasant, relaxed place to stay and you can forgive a hotel many things with such great staff as this.
Rent a car for a few days you'll get to see the rest of what this pretty but busy little island has to offer, but I recommend avoiding peak months of july and August. It was busy in May, so I can imagine peak times being hellish.

Room Tip: Go for a sea view and avoid rooms too near the noisy kitchens.

spent 3 wonderful days and we were there for the easter feast.our room was a junior suite was a view of the agean.the hotel was not centrally located but that was a plus as we did not have to deal with the city crowds.the hotel provided a shuttle which we used daily.we would visit the city center and go back to the hotel at night.the shuttle was a great service.the room was perfect and we slept as if on a cloud.the staff was helpful and with a smile that never ended.the breakfast was fine but not outstanding but than again this was not a large hotel .the easter feast was outstanding.the view from the room and balcony was outstanding and we enjoyed the sunsets.the greeting of a fruit basket and bottle of wine was a nice touch

Room Tip: get a suite with the balcony and sea view
