A wonderful place for a family get together to celebrate Grandma’s 70th birthday. We were in Weir House and loved every little detail. From everything you could need for the little ones (we had 5 children aged between 1 and 7) to the glorious log fire, it was perfect for our needs with lots of extra luxurious touches. The welcome hamper was superb and much appreciated. The swimming pool was a big hit - a nice size and depth.
Weir House is massive with 5 bedrooms, 2 lounges, a well equipped large kitchen/diner and even a little playroom under the stairs. Ideal for large extended families. The only downside was that we weren’t there for long enough!
We have just returned from 12 nights in Weir House, one of the facilities for hire at Bruern.
Nine of us, including seven US visitors met up for a reunion celebration.
Everything we had been looking forward to was exceeded by the reality!
Every room was delightfully fitted out with beautiful fittings, tasteful furnishings and the bathrooms were equipped with all we needed.
The kitchen had enough kit and caboodle for catering and the welcome basket was a pure delight- particularly the bottles of champagne.
The lounges were comfy and welcoming and a log fire was a focal point for evening chats.
The grounds were a delight and the spa gave an excellent reflexology massage for my wife.
The staff couldn’t have been more helpful answering all our queries and requests.
What an advert for overseas visitors and we got nothing but praise from our friends!
We’ll be back.

Stayed at Weir House with family and friends from the USA...beautiful house in the middle of glorious countryside and near to beautiful Cotswold villages. Great facilities for children including a lovely warm swimming pool. Well-placed for days out - Blenheim, Oxford, Snows Hill and Chedworth Roman villa...and near to wonderful restaurants and country pubs. Owned by friendly people who seem to have thought through everything that a family needs for a week's holiday. Have been twice and can't wait to go back.
Great properties amazing location, well maintained and wonderful warm welcome. Stayed in Weir, a real treat!
Had a great meal cooked for us by Tailor Made Top Nosh....great food, service and no washing up!
Will be back next year!
We just finished a vacation rental at Weir House at Bruern Cottages. We stayed with one other family - so a total of 4 adults and 5 young kids (aged 2-7). The setup worked perfectly, with two separate accommodation areas (one wing with 3 beds and then the upstairs with 2 beds). The living space is open plan - a huge kitchen diner, separate TV room (with a TV that must be 70 inches plus) and then a super comfy living area with large open fire. The house is so well set up for kids, with great little touches - high chairs, kids plates, stools for kids to reach basins, toys, dress up, a little play area under the stairs etc. There is also a big garden, play room and pool / gym area to keep everyone amused. Location is great also - within striking distance of some great sights and some great gastro pubs. It's more expensive than the average vacation rental - but worth it considering what you get (including the champagne and top quality bacon and sausages they leave for breakfast!).
We visited from Canada to have a holiday with our son and the grand children. Bruern Cottages was the perfect solution. We were extremely well looked after and all three generations had a wonderful time. Many thanks.
My husband and I were guests of a family who had booked to stay in Weir house one of the cottages on offer at Bruern. Our time spent there was lovely, a beautiful setting with wonderfully kept gardens and surrounding areas and superb facilities including gym, in and outdoor pool, games room and many other fantastic things to do. All the staff were extremely courteous, friendly and more than happy to help with anything we needed and nothing was too much trouble, especially the girls in reception, Emma friendly and extremely helpful. Lydia extremely helpful and very polite assisting us with Caterers, taxis and train times, which came in very handy as we spent a wonderful day out in the beautiful Oxford which is only a short train ride away, 25 minutes I remember rightly. We also were informed about the spa treatments which sounded super but we just didn't have the time to fit it all in.
Upon arrival we received a welcome basket full of goodies which was delicious although not to keen on the ice cream but that's just me. What a fantastically beautiful place and a truly fabulous stay we had and I will most certainly be recommending Bruern to my friends and family who enjoy the finer things in life.
