I have been thinking about an authentic village experience in Rajasthan. I am so glad I found the property of Chotaram and Mamta ji and I was able to spend time with an amazing family/their beautiful homestay. The family ensured that they treat us like a family member from picking us from our bus stop (few miles from their home), preparing an amazing home cooked meal everytime, giving us tips on how to prepare an amazing meal and ensuring all our wishes were fulfilled + few more. I cannot thank them enough for everything they did for us and have referred them to every friend of mine and will remember this for rest of my life.

This was a perfect example of going as a guest and coming back feeling as their family member. Once again Thanks to the family for having us.

From the moment we were picked up to the moment we were dropped off at the train station we had the most amazing time. This was our first ever homestay experience and we were a little unsure of whether we would enjoy it before we arrived but as soon as we got there we knew we were going to love it. Chhotaram and his family were absolutely incredible hosts and it was a pleasure to get to know with them over the 3 days we stayed with them. The huts are brilliant, and have everything you need. The food was incredible and the experiences were unforgettable. We loved the village safari, it was eye opening to see the skills of the local artists and we really enjoyed trying our hand at pottery. After being shown the family craft of interlocked durry making we knew we had to buy one, so Chhottoram is having one shipped back to the UK for us whilst we continue our travels. If you are looking for a homestay in Rajasthan then this is it. Thank you from the bottom of or hearts for the most wonderful stay! If we come back to India in the future we will be sure to visit. Keep doing what you do, everything was perfect!

Spent an amazing night in in a mud hut in Salawas village. The accommodation felt authentic but with ‘modern conveniences ‘. The whole experience was terrific, the food was delicious made even more enjoyable by eating with the family and the other guests.
In addition it’s great value for money. You must stay here on your Rajasthan tour!

My daughters and I spent a delightful 2 days at Chhotaram's Home. We drove up to an amazingly warm welcome from Ohm and after the bustle of Delhi & Jaipur, this was an oasis. They settled us into our self-contained, spotless, comfortable earthen huts and we joined them for breakfast and dinner on both days. Mamata cooks genuine Rajasthani food in abundant quantity and variety on her fire pit. She has superb bread making skills (she's happy to let you try your hand at it, it's harder than it looks). The stuffed paratha we had for breakfast were the best I've ever had. Chhotaram, his brothers Ohm and Shambu were all available at any time for advice and friendly conversation about Indian customs and culture, but respected our privacy. We enjoyed playing with their polite and well behaved children, Vasudev and Trilok after dinner. Even though they have been doing this for several years, there is no cynicism or going through the motions with them. Do not miss checking out the weaving demonstration. Here this is not a prelude to a hard sell, but a proud desire to display the craftsmanship for which the area is known.
As an illustration of how comfortable they made us feel in a very short time, I left my laptop for an entire day in the unlocked room with no qualms.... that's the level of trust and confidence that Chhotaram's family exudes (locks are provided if you want one).
Yes, the palaces and forts in Rajasthan are breathtaking, but for an authentic glimpse into how an Indian family lives, this cannot be beat.

Staying at Chhota’s home was a unique and wonderful experience. We ate with the family under the neem tree - traditional food cooked by his lovely wife - walked through the village, tried our hand at weaving and shared the rural lifestyle. Our accommodation was rustic but comfortable with modern en suites and loads of hot water. A special stay in an authentic Indian rural village.
