husband and wife truly make a great team. You will eat in their kitchen and get a glimpse of family life, when the kids rush out for school in the morning and mum has to quickly get lunchboxes or shoe laces ready. So recognisable but then again so authentically India. The huts are very clean, the beds very comfy, the food is excellent. The stories at dinner are hilarious, ask your guest about his trip to a government trade show a while ago... When you mention what food you love, chances are you will get it for breakfast or lunch the next day! The lady of the house works hard behind the scenes but is instrumental in the overall experience. The carpet demonstration is nice and short and it is great to not feel pressured to buy anything if you don't want to. This is truly different and truly worthwhile. It is getting boring probably but the reviews are true.

Visiting India, you’ll see many amazing sights, but there is a side of India you’ll be so glad you experienced if you visit Chhotaram and his family. This is a true home stay. You are welcomed as a member of the family but still have privacy and space if you need it. Our lovely mud hut was clean and comfortable with a massive marble bathroom. The relaxed calmness of the local community is refreshing. When you walk in the street, children run out to see you, and all they ask is a smile and a wave. Our visit included not just breakfast but lunch and dinner, henna decoration and the fun of dressing in local costume. Food was fresh and delicious, cooked in front of us on a traditional stove. We chose the option of a village tour and safari. No pressure to buy but we couldn’t resist buying quality handmade goods at a good price from the people who made them. Also had a lot of fun, tearing around in a jeep, spotting local wildlife. In the evening, Chhotaram took us for a walk in the desert to view the beautiful sunset. Such a lovely family, nothing was too much trouble, this was an absolute highlight of our trip to India!!

We had a wonderful stay here. The family are excellent hosts- kind, attentive and very welcoming. The home cooked food was delicious and a walk to see the sunset was a highlight of our stay. The room was clean, tidy and spacious with a lovely hot solar powered shower. We really got a great taste of village life here. Would highly recommend to anyone who wants to get out of the city and be in nature.

My husband and I got back from India 1 week ago, and Chhotaram's Homestay is our favorite thing to share stories about. We stayed 2 nights and would have loved to stay at least one more night. We had such a wonderful time and loved becoming a part of Chhotaram's family. His wife prepared the most delicious food and gave me beautiful henna. It was so special getting a peek into their daily lives in the village. Highly recommend going on the village tour as well. Chhotaram's family welcomed us with open arms, and we couldn't be more thankful.

My 16 year old son and I had the privilege of staying at the Chhotaram Prajapat’s Homestay for a few days. We had the most wonderful experience of our life. Not only did we enjoy an authentic homestay but this wonderful family made us feel like part of their extended family.
We got to know everyone in the family and each family member treated us so well. Nothing was too much trouble for them. They took us to the desert on camels, fed us, helped us in every way, and involved us in their crafts, family and culture. When I visit India again, I intend going straight to them and won’t waste any of my precious time in India anywhere else.
We felt heartbroken to leave them at the end of our stay.

Room tip: Stay longer than I did. You will be sad when the end of your stay arrives.
