We recently stayed at Chottatram's family homestay for 5 nights, and found it to be one one of the highlights of our trip. As regular visitors to India, we always attempt to experience some "real life" aspects of accommodation, away from the hotels and conventional guest houses.
This place was great. Mixing and living with the family was very rewarding, and much enjoyable time was spent playing games, watching our meals being prepared, and even helping with a little harvest gathering.
Our hut was comfortable and adequate, and the bedding provided kept us warm enough. Should you be too cold, just ask for more blankets.
The family was friendly and gracious, and the personal touches they were able to bring to our stay made all the difference. Trips out were interesting, and we enjoyed walking into the nearby village and meeting the locals.
I even got to help with the gardening, and planted plenty of marigolds. A busman's holiday for me, but it was a pleasure to get stuck in and work off some of that lovely food!More
