unspoilt non commercial beach. Has petrified forest remains in the sea that you can see as the tide goes out. Opportunity to discover fossils. Dog friendly at one end of the beach to which is a bonus

Beautiful unspoilt area of reclaimed land to the north of road grazed by sheep with rolling hills in the distance, to the south of the road is a large beach of shells and stones maintained by the Environment Agency, if you visit at low tide and you will an expanse of fine golden flat sand which you can walk on. Whilst tide is leaving be careful of sinking in isolated mud deposits. A peaceful area to walk along the coast for quite a few miles. Loads of parking on side of road and lay bys, in summer parking fills up very quickly and parking can become difficult my mid morning.

have been to this beach many time very pleasant. Nice area of sand when the tide is out. otherwise a pebbly beach with cliffs at the fairlight end. Toilets located at cliff end of beach. With nice pub the smugglers and ice cream van nearby. Great views both inland across the ponds with many waterfowl and views across the bay all the way to Dungeness. Also the cliffs which can yield the odd fossil. I found a small piece of fossil fish and possible dino bone this week. Easy parking all the way along with steps up to the beach over the defences easy walking along the top of defences towards rye nature reserve. Good area to fish as well.

What a great beach - we have lived in Kent for many years and had not found this hidden gem - great mixed beach of sand, pebbles and rock pools - also some cliffs at one end which is fairly rare in this area. Also a good pub with a nice welcome and the beach club also looked worth visit in the future.

Good location for visiting Rye and Hastings as well - lots of parking alongside the road as well.

Definitely be back soon!
